alright, it's Miami-FIU game week, lets look back....

Man that did immeasurable damage to this program, its one thing to have swagger, but swinging helmets and the comments made on a televised game for everyone to see and hear who already hated the program for winning. It played into the stereotype of "Thug U" like it was on steroids. Coker had no control whatsoever. I didn't bother watching them again till he was gone. Its why Florida can have a TE who likely started his career as a serial killer in G-Ville, but they still think Thug U is worse.

When people on here complain about the Administration - think about this clip, Shalala sure did. That's the origins. They weren't having that ever again and have hired accordingly. **** they may a short seminar on expectaions and make the new coach watch this clip before he signs on the dotted line.

Then 2010 happened with Shapiro and they were calling for the death penalty. That's a huge underlying reason why Miami has been Miami since.

I love when there’s 5 separate threads regurgitating the same exact thing on the front page.

Stay original my friends.

I normally would think James Bryant’s bow was obnoxious. But FIU asked for Bryant to take the bow with how dirty they played that game.

And FIU threw the first punches in the brawl.

The brawl was 100% FIU’s fault and 0% Miami’s fault.

Quit criticizing Miami’s conduct in the brawl. That brawl was 100% on FIU. Miami did nothing wrong in the brawl.

The only reason we got the short end of that was bc of the light suspensions and Reddick swinging his helmet. FIU started that brawl. That wasn’t anything like the Garrett ordeal or the Burfict ones. They were hitting people late and putting guys in danger of injury all night. This is one scenario where I was ok with a fight bc we didn’t throw the first punch. Without the other circumstances including our “bad boy image,” it would’ve been just another fight and people would’ve been applauding it

Never played did you? That was an embarrassment, and you never take your helmet off and swing it unless you're a punk. Why do you think its such a big deal when it happens. If you need to swing your helmet don't start shoving or acting tough in the first place. Desn't matter who started it, it went out of control and that speaks to discipline.

The Clemson and South Carolina players also got one game suspensions. Since both teams refused a bowl, the suspensions were served the next year. Clemson spread out their suspensions between Duke (1-10) and Temple (0-11). Neither of those games was Clemson’s opener.

Miami only got criticized for the one game suspensions because FIU decided to do the “right thing” and suspend their players for the rest of the season.

Anyway, here is the nightmare game against Duke the next week, with everybody suspended.

I remembered that ridiculous fall by Willie Cooper on the interception that prevented us from winning 26-15 and making the score a bit more respectable. But until I read the game summary on espn.com a few days ago, I had completely forgotten about the scene afterword where the Duke guy picked up the ball and ran 86 yards the other way, and nobody knew who had won the game for a little while before the officials ruled that Cooper had been down before he fumbled.

Football players footballing. Spare me the self righteousness. People actually expect football players to turn on their aggression and turn it off like a switch in 4-5 second intervals.

The moral of the story...

Don't start a fight you can't finish...

Yeah I'm talking to you ****** International

I know it happened in 06, but could even imagine just a short 13 years later if something like this went down. No telling the outrage and grandstanding it would bring out, Wow. I don't think they program would even survive in todays culture.
