Jesus Christ, that was unbearable. 47 minutes of pep-talking and chanting with 30 seconds of lethargic football.

U School is hilarious. They think they are St Thomas. The team is about 8 division 1 recruits and bunch of small ****** kids.

Being at one of their games is funny. Just check out their sidelines and look at the difference between the kids who are supposed to go to U-School and the kids who were recruited to go there.

Harriott's a nice guy though and they run a good program.

They are a legit program, especially for their 1A classification, and they produce more D1 talent than 99% of the HS' in the US. Notice that AG name checks them and coach Harriott whenever he gets going on SFL HS football programs. Don't act butthurt.

Except of course that they are 4A now. Which is the same size school and classification as Booker T ...

Are they? You sure? If so, I had no idea. But isn't it solely based on enrollment, and isn't U School real small?

Edit: BTW, what BTW does at the 4A level is extraordinary. They dust schools 4x their size.

Yes they are 4A. The reclassification was done this year, and University bumped up from 3A to 4A.

It is done by size ... 4A in Florida represents any high school with an enrollment between 637 - 1033. The southern region in 4A now includes University, North Broward Prep, Pace, Edison, Gulliver, Booker T, etc.

By sheer numbers winning a state title in 4A or below is easier as each of those classifications only has about 36 teams statewide. Some of that is due to many smaller schools dropping out of the FHSAA and playing independent due to the strength of some of the "smaller" schools. The 5A - 8A classifications normally have about 85 schools represented statewide.

As for Booker T, although small by number, they have great demographics to do well athletically. Braddock might have 4 thousand more kids, but Booker T fields the bigger football team. Almost all of the inner city public schools have shrunk, and play between the 4A - 6A level now. FCAT scores, charter schools, etc have all played into that.

Good stuff, thank you. I'm 1000 miles away and these tidbits are like gold to me.
