Alarming quote from Ferman in his Wedn. Update

“There is a prevailing opinion that they dont want a strong guy like Alonzo coming in and stirring things up. It's literally Riviera Country Club. “

We’re so ****ed.

I continue to be shocked at the utter incompetence and apathy from the decision makers at the University of Miami. It’s like every single one of them is completely tone deaf and oblivious to what’s going on in the real world.

I mean, I get why Blake and Manny don’t want him to come in and hold them accountable for this mess but the people above them should really be ashamed of themselves. Hopefully enough big money people say enough is enough.

How many days is it going to take for most of you to realize this. Manny and James don’t want someone telling them what to do. They want a sidekick. We will end up with some random guy helping Manny organize and blah blah blah. Time to move on from your dreams of Zo coming in and running the football program

The problem here is the confusion created over two entirely different positions.

- Chief - slapdick position. Less important than the OC that Blake James is talking about and Highsmith is never taking

- Football AD - an illusion created when sauces heard Highsmith was interested in coming to Miami.

What don't you get.The people above are just like Blake and Manny,it's why they hired them and only want softies like them.

Sounds like the hope is that the program just dies a slow death. Kids are already opting to go elsewhere. It's also either a reality or a narrative, to further disparage the program, that coaching at the U is an unattractive option - for any self respecting coach or coordinator. Just seems like a lot of forces at play to diminish football at the U. At a minimum there's apathy and indifference towards the success of the program. Seems like the only people that care are the fans (some of those are even suspect) and past players.

It’s over. Until the ACC threatens to kick Miami out (which seems unlikely) the administration has no incentive to change the status quo.

I do think that should be our message though—the ACC should replace Miami with UCF (or whomever). Start beating that drum and maybe it will wake some people up.

We can trash on Gary Ferman all day, every day...and 99% of what he says is often rubbish.

But, I will say this...he's had legitimate contact and been around the program every day for what...almost 20 years - literally associating with everyone. There are very few that if he were to provide any actual insight could give you a better idea of how much of a country club it is there...if he and Barry Jackson are basically telling you its a **** show in there, its probably a **** show.

I don't believe Ferman is lying when he's saying **** like this.

Its one of the reasons I believe Pete when he talks about Blake James and Jenn Strawley. He was there intimately for years. Knows everyone. He's seen these people from multiple angles as a reporter, as a student, as a guy, and now as an agent and liaison. The fact that he's a fan allows him to take things a little more personal.

Its always been a ****show in there. They were harboring a pedophile and tens of gigabytes of child pornography on their own servers and no one knew **** until some lowest level tech specialist found it when they were updating the computers. It was 10 years ago.
