At this point I don’t see anyone beating them. And it pains me to type that.

We need them to lose or at least major struggle somewhere. You know darn well the sports media is willing to amend the all-time best team list with one of Saban's Alabama squads above the 2001 Canes.

That is simply reality. If Alabama continues to win titles at silly record pace and with the coach considered the best of all time, how is conventional wisdom going to deny that one of the teams was greatest ever? It is a natural correlation that people will be desperate to make. We have been somewhat fortunate so far that none of the Alabama teams fully qualifies.

I don't know how good this Alabama team is. But it sort of feels like my annual rooting interest to preserve the Dolphins' 17-0 as unique. As long as this quarterback is starter Alabama is finally scary enough on offense to have pundits like Herbstreit reconsider Miami 2001 as tops, if the margins continue to be this lopsided.

It’s coming, unfortunately. Espn was claiming that 2008 gators were better.
