'We only sought two cornerbacks"

UM coach Al Golden praised Elder’s play during his sophomore year, and noted in an interview with the Post last week the team was particularly light on corners. “We have five cornerbacks on scholarship. Other schools have 10,” he said.

"Our Six offensive linemen skewed numbers" RE: South Florida recruiting. Funny he forgot to mention he picked up two South florida kids that he just offered

Best part was it wasn't a big skill year in south florida lulz.... Tbh though the wide receiver group is much better in 2016

Golden just admitted there were a lot of corners in South Florida this year, but they eliminated anyone who wasn't at least 6'1".

F***ing *******.

He lies about everything at this point to attempt to cover up his **** ups. It's impossible to take him seriously.

He complains about a lack of depth at CB last season, then strikes out on all the elite local talent....and then blatantly lies and says CB wasn't a priority during this cycle.

Guy takes responsibility for nothing. On top of the fact he's a ****** coach and recruiter...he's turning into a horrible example for all the young men he's SUPPOSE to be molding.

Serious? and he has such a size bias but still won't recruit Arnette, Tmac, or Redwine (till the very last week)

Yup. And he also said something along the lines of how "we'd never drive beyond our own backyard to grab a kid outside of South Florida if we didn't have to," even though that's exactly what they did with Michael Jackson over T-Mac, Arnette, Fenton, etc.

Pathological liar.

I can't stand the guy, but what's he supposed to say at this point? "I'm not getting the job done, and frankly, I should have been fired in December. But they didn't fire me. So I'm recruiting the best I can for a guy that shouldn't even be here."

I know so many of us keep saying it, but it's truly unreal what comes out of this guy's mouth and the thinking that goes on in his head. There wasn't a lot of skill talent in South Florida this year? His recruiting, like his coaching is stuck in the 1980s - it's like he thinks fans aren't aware of (and don't have access to information about) who we were recruiting and not recruiting, like we don't know that Scarlett, Williams, Cronkrite were all skill guys that were committed, like Calloway wasn't a guy we wanted, like Devante Peete wasn't someone we wanted. And to not go after corners that are shorter than 6'1? Are you friggin kidding? So let's ignore all these skilled players that schools around the country are falling over so that we can recruit guys of a particular size?

And the solution is to recruit 5 WRs in next years class? Awesome, just the way to get class balance, by going after a bunch of guys at one position and ignoring another position, so that we have to repeat that cycle when the ignored position is thin on players.

Didn't he offer Fenton late too? Unless that kid grew 2 inches he isn't 6'1". All the lies.

What's more amazing is how some of you keep obsessing over what this guy f*cking says.

Don C NAILED it.

Look, he's a FAILED coach. EVERYONE knows it. You ALL know it. He's a lame duck, dead man walking. The ONLY reason he is still employed is because he got a fat extension during the Shapiro mess, and his buyout was too much for the school to swallow this year.

EVERYTHING he has said and promised has now fallen flat. At this point, its all just bullsh*t. He's going to say whatever just to say something. Its all meaningless.

Save yourself the heartache and read Don Canelone's translation above. Whatever Golden says now can be simply translated as "yeah I failed, I will almost certainly be fired after next season, I have no answers to anything, I don't even want to be here anymore, but hey, Im still making over 2 million a year, so Im not giving that up til they buy me out, and I have to at least go through the motions and do my job to keep getting paid".

Its all bull**** at this point. Of course he is going to lie, spin, change the subject, paint rosy pictures, etc. I mean what else does he have left? Getting worked up over whatever bullsh*t comes out of his mouth at this point is akin to getting worked up about North Korea supposedly building a colony on the Moon. Its a joke.

I'm still shocked at his "It wasn't a big skill year in South Florida" comment

Every year is a skill year in South Florida, receivers, backs, line backers, DBs, every single year. WTF
