Lloyd carr's body of work, 122-40, is infinitely more impressive. He wasn't "fireable" but 1-6 vs tOSU in his last 7. Again, way better coach, but wasn't a fit and fans couldn't get rid of him for 12 years. Al Golden.

I get what you're saying but I think Al Golden is bad enough to where he will never have a really, really good season. Lloyd Carr won an NC and then had a bunch of 10+ seasons. Golden will never do that.

He's made the schedule easy enough to win more games than he should. Yet even with that, he can't crack 10 wins. He will be gone soon enough

Carr won a national title.

Godlens hasn't won a Coastal title.

Try again OP

Completely agree. The comparison isn't in coaching accomplishments. It's that they both weren't fits, proved it after a few seasons and then stuck around until the death. Mack brown and Larry Coker are similar comparisons , despite their obvious acumen over golden, they stayed until rock bottom.

Lloyd Carr would beat Golden 992 times out of 1000.

Like a rented mule.

Please, Carr couldn't be Appalachian State 2 times out of 2.

Lloyd Carr won a national championship, was 19-8 against top ten opponents, had six 10-win seasons, and a bunch of conference titles. Golden has zero 10 win seasons, zero national championships, zero conference championships, zero division championships, and ONE win against a team with 8 or more wins.

Lloyd Carr takes a giant **** on Al Golden by every measure imaginable, and Lloyd Carr was far from a great coach.

no comparison. however golden did win the coastal but we forfeited the acc title game.

Only because UNC was ineligible for the championship game that year. Had they been eligible, UM would not have been the coastal "winner."

Golden has never won anything as a coach. And he learnt from coaches who are years past their sell on date. Not very comforting
