against teams with a pulse fsu averages

Gus will find ways to move the ball. They will score. They cannot stop us from scoring. Final score should be Canes by 10+. Questions:
1) Will we play disciplined, gap assignment defense?
2) Will we turn the ball over?
3) Will we allow penalties to stall our drives/advance their drives?
4) If we get behind in that environment, how will we respond?
5) Do we continue conservative play-calling if their defense effectively adjusts to between-the-tackles attacking?

If we are who we think we are, the game will be close if we do not scheme/adjust to Gus's offense and we allow penalties, turnovers, over-conservative play-calling that does not account for their defensive adjustments. We roll them if we play disciplined ball, protect the rock, and just keep leaning on our strengths.

I think it's just the explosives. Not that they're some offensive juggernaut, but they've generated a lot of explosives, and that type of thing can flip a game quickly.

29 plays of 10+ yards in their two P4 games
11 plays of 20+ yards
7 plays of 30+ yards

So they've averaging 3.5 plays of 30+ yards per game.

Last year, we had the most explosive offense we've ever seen, and we had 26 plays of 30+ yards in our 10 games vs P4 schools. 2.6 per game.

Figure out a way to not get massive chunk plays on you, and we win by a couple scores. But that's kind of what they want to do and how their offense is set up.

Gus's offense is designed to find the weakness in your defense, like mismatches. The thing is, I havent seen any glaring weakness in our defense, but if we do have a weakness on defense, we're going to know after this game.

I actually wouldnt mind seeing Bryce back there. He seems to really be catching on quickly and he has range and an eye for the ball. A few of those long completions for FSU easily could have been INTs as they were toss ups. I think Fitz may be better at tracking the ball than either Poysner or Thomas who strike me as more in the box help.

Stop the run, don't let them hit 1v1 shots downfield.

We are actually built to do this because we can get home and cause havoc with our front 4. If we have to bring extra people and open up the shots downfield it could be a long game. #1 isn't the best passer, but he does give his receivers a chance to make a play. Kind of like Lance says, he doesn't overthrown the deep ball

Attacking our defense is easier said than done.

With that said, in my unprofessional opinion, I would attack the perimeter of our defense. Make Toure run sideline-to-sideline. Make our safeties tackle in space. Run counter repeatedly. Throw back-to-back WR screens. Mix in some QB power.

Again, not sure it will work but their only chance is to create explosive plays and win the turnover battle.

the weakest part of our defense (i think) is our secondary and fsu isn't built to stress that

34.5 pts per game
448 yds of total offense
203yds of passing yds
243yds rushing

cmon now

they're not trash, but this elite offense talk ... idk ... we COULD lose, but i'll be due to a bunch of ME's on our part
You just gotta look at who they've played. Alabama has an absolutely abysmal run defense. Just allowed almost 250 to Georgia. Their other games have been against an FCS team and literally the worst FBS team in the country and then Virginia who is terrible on defense. They let NC State rush for almost as much as FSU did. Not sure where exactly Bama ranks but I'd wager they haven't gone against a single rush defense thats in the top 70.

Bama is in the 50s in YPC allowed, UVA in the 70s.

A lot of delusion over on the FSU board
Interesting how they think Miami is not much better than UVA and UVA just caught them off guard.
For them to think their lines equal out and Castellanos is better than Beck is an interesting perspective for sure.
I really believe that most of it is whistling through the graveyard.
