We are the biggest potential threat to the ruling order of college football. ANY other team wins or becomes good the status quo does not really change and he can keep doing his schtick on his show. Miami being good would shift the landscape. He knows it. Hes scared of it happening one day so he does his part to ensure that it doesn't. It's that simple. Plus hes an ignorant hick who's hatred for us probably comes down to prejudice.

Finebaum concluded that column by saying that sending Updyke to jail would be a mistake.
"Let's learn from Harvey Almorn Updyke Jr.'s mistake and allow this to be a teachable moment," he wrote. "I'm not suggesting President Obama invite Updyke and Gene Chizik to The White House for a beer summit.
"But throwing him in jail will only make some people feel better for a brief moment. I say enough of the attacks and the calls for jail time for vengeance to right the wrong. It is time to get past this human tragedy."
