I've said it a dozen times and I'll say it again. Miami needs to leave the ACC for the AAC and sign exclusive rights deals with streaming services like Amazon Prime or Netflix. Cable TV is dead. AAC teams are located in huge markets. Houston is also the first team to get a head coach to move from P5 to G5. AAC has a lot of potential whereas Miami will never get a fair shake in the ACC.

Yes, and the punch line is if we're going to be impotent, we should look impotent.
 
So to be fair; we can be in FCS and that hit by Carter will be deemed targeting. It’s not the ACC v. the rule itself. Again, I’m totally for player’s safety, but from youth on, you’re taught to stop the man from catching the ball. It’s a contact, often times, violent sport, but most of these targets have been due to players sliding/ducking, and the defender is already engaged to hit their body. The intent needs to be clarified and used in reason.

I used to think we’d be a playoff contender again someday with the right coach. I think that less and less as time goes on. Maybe we really are a permanent perennial 7-5 program.
 
Would rather see OL flagged for blocking at the knees, and not just chop blocks. GT got away with murder for years.
 
How are we really taking any post on this site. This guy is a total clown. We have two targeting calls THAT WERE TARGETING CALLS. 95% of time Amari Carter goes for a hit... it will be targeting. He just doesn’t know how to tackle from safety spot and really should be a LB instead of safety. But non of that should promote us leaving the ACC. If you were just joking... disregard this.

Hypothetical- let's say you are a fan of Team X and the conference leadership REALLY wants your team to win. Refs read between the lines and heavily tilt the calls in your favor- other teams OL get flagged for holding on average 4-5 times a game, your OL never gets flagged. It's not that hard to have a great season when the refs like you.

I think if Miami was the flagship program of the AAC, you'd see a miraculous turnaround and a perennial 10 win program that had little to do with actual improvement and a lot to do with not getting screwed by refs. Also even if Miami left the ACC for the AAC, we'd still get great ratings and a 12-0 Miami isnt getting left out of the playoffs, especially if we have a strong OOC schedule.

I cant recall if it was 2016 or 2017 that a hold wasn't called on our opponents OL for almost a full season. That's is f@cking ridiculous.

@Kayone Carter's hit was not targeting. He did not lead with his head or target his opponent's head. The rule is called targeting, which means there has to be intent. If they want to change the rule and flag any contact with the helmet, intentional or not that's one thing. But targeting means Carter was aiming for his opponents head. If a player is making a form tackle and the opponent lowers his head and causes the helmet to helmet hit, more often than not the defensive player gets flagged. That is ridiculous.
