I've been trying to find all the info I can as far as who they will have playing, who they get back, who is out, etc.
As usual, since this is college football, I'd have better luck walking to Fort Knox with a duffel bag and filling it up, but here goes:
1. Walter Nolen -- Was the #2 overall recruit in the country in the class of 2022. Incredibly big and explosive DT, he did not play against App State, but supposedly is back for this game. He is #88, check and see if he's out there on our first drive. You won't be able to miss him if he is. While just a true freshman, if he can't go or is limited, it's a big break for Miami.
2. Bryce Foster -- Was projected to be their starting Center, missed the first 2 games with Mono. Expected to start tomorrow night. He's #61, started all 12 games last year as a true freshman and was a first-team Freshman All-American and first-team Freshman All-SEC. Would be a big boost to their line, although it'll be interesting to see how conditioned he is first game back after a couple weeks being sick.
3. McKinnley Jackson -- Another massive defensive lineman, missed the first 2 games with injury and should be back this week. #35, was a projected starter at DT. Preseason 3rd team All-SEC, he started 4 games last year and is a true Junior. Another 325 pounder. He and Nolen were projected to be the top 2 DTs, and they haven't had both in the lineup together yet this year.
4. Jaylon Jones -- Another projected starter who hasn't played yet this season. He is more up in the air, I believe, than the first 3 on the list. He's been practicing, but it's unclear if he's going to play this week. It is trending in the right direction, though. He's started every game of his career thus far at CB, he's #17 and is a big, physical DB (6'2 205lbs). Definitely on the NFL radar for next year, would be another big boost if he's able to go, but seems to be more of a 50/50 at this point.
5. Max Wright -- 5th year senior TE, projected to split time with Jake Johnson. I don't believe he's played yet this year, but is practicing this week and expected back. He's #42 and has been used more of a blocker to this point, but would certainly help shore up their line some.
6. Andre White, Jr. -- Was projected to be their starting MLB, but I do not believe he's going to play this week. Would be a big loss for them, is a true senior and has played in 30+ games in his career. I expect Miami to be able to exploit their backers, it's easily the weakest position on the defense. Need big games from the Tight Ends and backs for sure.
So all in all, some major reinforcements for A&M are expected back. Nolen and Jackson are huge, literally and figuratively. Both those kids are elite talents and will help them tremendously. Jaylon Jones is also their best corner, getting him back and if he's full speed would be huge for them. Wouldn't hurt me one bit to see him take 1 more week off. And of course your starting center being back is a major plus as well. So, they seem to be getting healthier. Essentially 4 starters expected back after missing either last week or both the first 2 games. They're going to be deeper, and you know they're going to be salty. Check on the first series to see if 88 and 35 are the interior defensive linemen. If so, our interior line better be ready to go.
