Going from losing record(last year) to undefeated best team ever in four years? No I do not. But that also shouldn’t be the standard. Let’s win the ACC first lol

Different era. A lot of those kids that were freshmen and sophomores on that 97 team were under the radar recruits that Butch and his staff brought in. Santana Moss was famously on a track scholarship because the NCAA had cut Miami's scholarship allotment. You definitely can't do that sort of thing today. His track scholarship would have immediately become a football scholarship the second he stepped on the field. Back then, you could uncover "hidden gems" in south Florida. Not so much today. Every school is aware of pretty much any good player in the tri county area.
I still laugh at the old "Ed Reed was a two star!" argument that people love to use. Ed Reed was the Louisiana high school defensive player of the year. He wasn't some guy that nobody knew.

If you want to torture yourself - watch the 1998 Miami VT game. It was Pros vs Amateurs.

But Miami turned the ball over on 5 straight possessions and lose in OT. 5 straight. Low key candidate for most painful game ever.

He'll never have a staff like Butch had....To do that, he'd need the Best RB coach in UM History...Best WR coach in UM History...and the Best DB & ST coach in UM History....thats simply not happening...

Clearly, we improved in the years following 97, I was simply referring to winning a title in only 4 years following that season. It was funny watching Santana Moss out there wearing #48 as a walk-on. Butch hit on so many hidden gems during that probation span.
