65 penalty yds in the first half alone. This isn't working in a tight game. Not to mention a blocked FG...Need to get it fixed & soon.

that's not that big a deal to me, penalties happen especially when Miami plays thanks to the refs. Besides 2 of the penalties were two 15 yard unsportsmanlike calls that I applauded from Stacy Coley and Jamal Carter not taking no ****. that's 30 yards right there, I can live with. We aren't shooting ourselves in the foot constantly like in previous years under Al Golden.
 
Yeah I couldn't understand the 2 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. FAU players talking **** we talked **** back and get penalized
 
Coley and Carter got the unsportsmanlikes last year. They got them this year. Not worried about it.

That was just stupid as **** and against a better opponent could cost you the game

Those unsportsmanlike penalties were horsesh.., however it felt that when we got nervous those bad habits from the golden era returned. Penalties, Oline getting beat a lot in pass protection, while they couldn't move anybody in the running game in the first half, Kaaya throwing those pics, drops and fumbles. Getting nervous on the road is understanable but at home vs the owls? Next week will be a great test.

How are you applying an incident that occurred bc of a specific set of circumstances that took place in one game, to something like that costing us a game against a better opponent?

it wasn't stupid, sometimes acts like that are necessary, that was one of those situations. Lets teams no that you aren't soft. I remember when Louisville was embarrassing us, pushing us around, and their players were in our face getting unsportsmanlike penalties on top of the *** whopping they were handing out. Charlie Strong didn't do anything but grin with satisfaction.

Why is that something you are so OMG about anyway? this the Hurricanes not BYU.
 
Take away the 2 unsportsmanlike and it's only 60. If it was for stuff like holding or Pi THEN I would be worried but those two penalties can be controlled with proper discipline after the infraction....even though Coley's was BS
 
Rather than have fifty " *****ing" and "whining" threads we should just have one . Maybe calling it the "junior coaches thread "

You know how many unsportsmanlike penalties Coley has taken over the past few seasons? I'm glad you applaud it but I guarantee the coaches don't and neither does any intelligent Canes fan. His selfishness and stupidity kills drives.

You can't take them away, they are drive killers.

If I remember correctly the only person that was killing drives last year was James Coley. You loved when Golden had the choir out on the field didn't you? smh And stop speaking for everybody else, most true Cane fans understand that football isn't Golf, stuff happens. Stacy Coley is a badass on the field, go cry about it. If someone pushes you, you push back simple as that or is sticking up for yourself something you know nothing about in real life??

When I saw the title, I wondered, "When did Susan Miller Degnan start posting here?" I was working with a client, but there were times when I could check the progress of the game on yahoo.com. Susan was commenting on the game stream. About half her comments were about how many penalties we had.
