7th In The AP Poll

Beat ND on Saturday night and we move up to #3 at a bare minimum. There would be absolutely no justification for us to be behind any teams with a loss after that. In fact, our body of work then would compare favorably with Georgia and Bama.

There's no justification for us to be behind anyone with a loss right now, especially after last night, but here we are.

Should be the #3 team in the country. The AP is a joke... laughing at them for still coming up with a ranking when it no longer matters

What is the value of AP poll anyway? I thought it's useless at this time of the year. It is not used in the formula used by the computers and is not used by the playoff selection committee..........am I wrong?

The AP and coaches polls are irrelevant in today's college football landscape.

They have zero impact on who makes the final cut.

The writers and coaches have lost their power over who plays for the title.

On ESPN's college football page, the second article in Top Headlines" is "Miami fan charged with assault on officer." First article is "Notre Dame moves up to #3 in poll." You can see how the media feels about us compared to other teams just by looking at what they choose to report. Miami isn't given respect, but that's OK, we'll make it impossible to ignore us when we break ND next Saturday.

Can you imagine if Miami lost 55-24 to Iowa?

We'd have fallen out of the top 20 and possibly out of the top 25

Ohio State only falls to 11

1 loss Clemson looked bad against the #20 team. 1 loss Oklahoma showed they can't play even one bit of defense. Yet we remain undefeated and dominated the team everyone picked against us in a game where we didn't even play that well but sit below those teams. We have not lost, the others have. This "style points" bullsh#t is for figure skating, not football.

Once again (though it's been quite a while!!!!) Miami finds itself in the position of having to go undefeated just to avoid being shut out of the conversation, let alone actually getting a ticket to the prom. Same old, same old. Win every game, you're in. Lose somewhere along the way, watch on television just like everyone else. Pretty simple.
