I had a chance to catch up with 2028 recruit Braylon Smith, who is actively being pursued by the Miami Hurricanes.

Smith is a 6-foot-5, 275-pound defensive lineman out of Bradenton, Florida, where he plays high school football for Bayshore. According to 247Sports, he is currently not ranked; however that should change in the near future as he continues his football career.

He holds a total of seven offers: Miami, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, and Western Kentucky.

Smith told CanesInSight that there are currently six teams pursuing him the hardest: "The schools going the hardest would be 'The U', Ole Miss, Auburn, FSU, South Carolina, and Georgia Tech," Smith added. "Miami is definitely one of the top 3 schools in my recruitment so far."

Smith noted he currently has a solid relationship with Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal and defensive tackles coach Damione Lewis.

"I have a solid relationship with both Coach Cristobal and Coach Lewis," he added. "They’ve both shown a lot of support and continue to show me how much they value me, I’m looking forward to further building that relationship going forward in my recruitment."

Smith currently does not have a visit set up to check out Coral Gables; however he noted that he should be on campus soon.
