The fumbles yesterday in addition to the not running up the score tactics on SSU really killed our Red Zone Offense. Best team stat though, 4-0
 
4th in turnover margin?

So maybe Florida didn't give us the ball after all?

(would be about 2nd if Duke doesn't fumble twice and Ryan Williams wasn't playing so much)

Our defense has caused at least 3 turnovers in every game but FAU.

Scoring offense and scoring defense both in the top ten is all that matters.
We keep that up and we finish undefeated.

I think we may need a personnel changed within 5 yards of the endzone.
 
4-0 is the most important stat. We played 3 puff teams to build these stats. Now we begin ACC play against a run team. Lets see how are front seven handles the challenge and the rest of conference play before we as fans get hyped about the early stats. I want to see the D continue to build on what they have done. Go Canes!

What's in their red zone offense formula?
 
This D has exceeded any and all expectations through 4 games. I don't give a **** who we have played so far... no one would have predicted our defense would be 10th overall through 4 games. 20-30, yes. But 10? No way anyone thought that would happen.

Name me one team not named Georgia who hasn't done the same? Some teams have played 4 cream puffs.

I'm proud of how good our team is playing. The defense has be a nice surprise.

I agree completely, and don't give Georgia too much credit here. They had no idea clemson would be a powerhouse when they scheduled them, and they still had North Texas, Appalachian State, and GT scheduled for their non conference schedule. Not exactly tough opponents (although they struggled against North Texas people seem to forget). The two games they've had against SEC top ten teams were deemed tough because of pre rankings. I think judging by all the high scoring SEC games, conferences are no longer scared of the SEC defenses of the past.

Very important stat.
 
Much of that redzone stat is us not giving a **** at the end of a couple of blowouts. Couple that with Duke's fumbles and it's hard to say where we're really at in this respect.

While improvement is always good, that stat is badly skewed right now given how few games we've played. Against Savannah St. we had possessions at the end of the 1st and 2nd half in which we were in the red zone, and we simply ran out the clock. So right there are two non-conversions in the red zone. Then Duke's 2 fumbles and Goudis' missed field short field goal add 3 more. I don't see Duke continuing to fumble, he just had a bad game. So I'm not too worried about that stat yet.

The formula is simple. Red zone opportunities/ red zone scores. Duke's 2 fumbles inside the 5 made our ranking go down. Also, we score a lot from outside the redzone on big plays so we don't have as many opportunities as others which magnifies mistakes made. Duke will not continue to fumble, however, I am a proponent of giving big backs (Hagens/Edwards) the ball inside the 5. It just makes sense to me.
