As expected, playing New York Tech was worse than taking the weekend off. Our RPI went from the .6120 range down to .6050. That puts us at #4 , right behind Florida State. UCLA sits at #2 after taking two of three from Arizona State. Dallas Baptist has a nearly insurmountable lead at #1 . We are mere percentage points ahead of LSU and TCU. Like I said last week, playing NYT was dumb, just dumb.
Louisville is a national seed as of right now. The thing that could save us is that the committee leans on conference standings, and we have a two game lead over FSU. We need to hold on to that lead and then beat them in the ACCT if we want a shot at a second NS for the ACC. Texas A&M really shot themselves in the foot this weekend, so that may open a door for us.
Here's what would make sense: National Seed Florida paired with host Florida State, and National Seed Miami paired with host FAU.
If the ACCT started today, we would be in the same bracket as #3 Florida State, #6 Clemson, and the winner of #7 North Carolina vs #1 0 Virginia.
