I talked with one of the nation's best safeties in the class of 2028 in four-star Bakersville (Ca.) Garces Memorial High School safety Jackson Parker. He talked about his recruitment with the Miami Hurricanes and among other teams pursuing him.

Parker told CanesInSight that there are currently three schools pursuing him the hardest in his recruitment: "Some of the schools recruiting me heavy are UCLA, Kansas, Michigan," he added. "[Miami is] definitely [in my] top 5, but there is no leader right now."

According to the 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings, he is currently viewed as a top-100 prospect in the 2028 class. 247 lists him as the nation's No. 41 player overall, No. 3 safety, and No. 2 player out of California.

"Miami is very high on my recruiting board, I like my relationship," he added. "Miami stands out as a program that is truly one of the best of all time and they show it time and time again [and] that's how I view Miami."

This past season for Garces Memorial High School, he led the Rams to a 7-5 record and 2-2 in league play. He recorded a total of 50 tackles and one interception. On offense, he tallied three receptions for 24 yards.

Parker stated that he will start narrowing down his college decision when he sets his official visits, hoping to have a top-10 list by the end of Spring.

"I will narrow down my decision probably closer to whenever I announce all my official visits," he added. "Not yet, but I hopefully have a top 10 by the end of like February or early March ."

Parker is also looking to visit Coral Gables for a gameday visit to see the Miami Hurricanes in action during the 2026-27 college football season: "I am trying to figure out a game to get out [to] this year and see Miami in person, but I don’t have any [visits] planned out yet."
