When the contact period opened up on June 15th for rising juniors in the 2028 recruiting class, four-star Conyers (Ga.) Heritage Malakhi Dudley heard from many top programs around the country, especially the Miami Hurricanes. Dudley is a highly-regarded offensive tackle who remains open in his recruitment. He spoke with CanesInSight about where the Hurricanes stand among other teams pursuing him.
"The schools recruiting me the hardest right now are Georgia Tech, LSU, Tennessee, Georgia, and Texas A&M," he added. "Miami is sitting at No. 2 in my recruitment right now," stated Dudley. The Georgia Bulldogs currently hold the advantage in his recruitment, he tells CIS.
He has been on the Hurricanes recruiting radar for over two-years, offering him in July 2024. Standing at 6-foot-5, 285-pounds, his massive presence makes it hard for defenders to get past him: "I feel like I’d fit well in Miami’s system," stated Dudley. "I believe I can be a physical run blocker and also be strong in pass protection."
When you have someone like Miami Hurricanes offensive linemen Coach Alex Mirabal developing players into the NFL, it is hard to not consider Miami, especially when they're making him a top priority in the class: "What stands out about Miami is the coaching staff, the culture they’re building, and the opportunity to compete at a high level while developing for the next level."
According to the 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings, he is currently viewed as a four-star prospect. He ranks as the No. 167 overall prospect, No. 18 offensive tackle, and No. 22 out of the Peach State. He holds a total of 18 offers from multiple power-five schools. He recently picked up offers from Texas A&M, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Mississippi State. He told CIS that he is currently working on a visit schedule this Fall.
