People like to forget but when we played Vtech last year that was Miami’s 3rd game in 12 days and we were down multiple starters

i never appreciate losses

but dropping one in the AP poll and getting our Asses kicked by VT last year might help motivate us saturday night
 
It was VT's 3rd game in 12 days also. What was their excuse? Oh yeah, they didn't need one.

If you need help being motivated for a top 10 matchup in November in a de facto conference semi final game against a rival, you may as well turn your shoulder pads in now.
 
Missing all those DLinemen hurt us more than the 3 games in 12 days.

We owe them a beating, and I feel like they're traveling into a hornet's nest on Saturday. And I don't think they really have any idea. They probably think we don't have a home field advantage and that we're overrated and all the other **** the media is hyping. I think they're in for a surprise.

I want the 'Canes to excoriate VT as they whiners and creeps that they are, .... and the following week take the potato eaters out to pasture by slowly twisting an oversized spud up their colons so far they puke french fries. I'm sick of both those teams, and I just hope the 'Canes bring their A game, which will be needed on both counts. If that happens, then we will be ok.

What I recall was basically an uninspired effort. That won't be the case Saturday. Not saying this means a win. But we will be competitive and the game will look nothing like last year.

BTW last time Hokies were in town I was surrounded by their fans. Many looked like turkeys, and arrogant. WTF

The visiting team rarely ever wins on the Thursday night game- in both CFB and the NFL.

I feel like it's going to be a den of horrors for Vag Tech. Everyone is hyping us as overrated, and the narrative is we play in an empty mausoleum.

Rick might have us playing at a fever pitch because his mantra all year has been that we want the Coastal this year. Well, if we beat Vag Tech, then we are going to win the Coastal on Saturday.

The Franchise nailed it. The Disrespect is eating at these young men, and I think they go out there to prove they have what it takes to administer a beating.

I think we win by 10. Perhaps even 14. I just think these kids are going to be wired.

That said, winning this game will set us up for the Domers. However, the Irish won’t come in here sleepwalking, bet on that.
 
I'm not worried about our team showing up for VT or ND for that matter. Showing up and play their hardest against 2-5 Pitt is a different story.
 
The entire college football universe-- from the media through most of this board-- are in for a major surprise on Saturday night. They (you) are talking about us as if we've already lost. VT doesn't respect us. They haven't respected us in 22 years. They never takes us seriously, and 2/3 of the time they've been right, but it's us that has been in our way, not them. They are a facade. One whack *** little hick program who generally craps the bed against anyone good, sending them and their little lunchbox back into the mountains. That's why the 1/3 of the time when we hit first, they stay down. Watch.

We were also kind of in it for a half+ last year. First night game they’ve played down here since 2013 where they waxed us.
