30 Years...and Here We Are

What year is this?
Miami started off defeating a team from Florida.
A hurricane caused their next game to be delayed until 21 days later.
That year, They struggled against a lowly Toledo team, but won.
They went to FSU and played a very close game, defeating FSU at home.
They defeated a tough Virginia Tech team.
Playing at home in a huge, nationally televised game, they blew out a top 10 Notre Dame team.
..............
A year they played Oklahoma for the National Championship, and won.

IT'S HAPPENING MY FRIEND, IT'S HAPPENING!

OP is a man of great character and dignity.

Although his screen name always makes me wonder if he stutters in real life.

"83, 87, 89, 91, 01, 17" has a ring to it.

I was born in 83 and we won a title. I had my 3rd boy this year. Maybe he is my little good luck charm like I was my dads.

We'll see.

Had my 1st son (Matthew Kane) on November 5, 2016 and well, so far so good. He’s my lucky charm (pun intended lol)...still going and he LOVES going to the games.

What pun?

It is kind of funny looking back.....we just remember blowing everyone out back then.

VT was a 2-9 team that year.....we were 38 point favorites and were tied 14-14 with under 5:00 to go. Then a 3-7-1 Toledo team held us to under 300 yards total offense the next week.

In today's era you get killed in the media for that.

Who remembers Sonny Hirsch voice of the Canes on radio, often saying “Holy Toledo!” back in. The days?

That 1987 ND game was an afternoon game. They said the Cane's offense was sluggish.

But here's what Brent Musburger had to say:

"A great football game is so much like a fight, it can be over in a hurry. You don’t always get a 4th quarter ending. And Notre Dame is scared to death of this great speed Miami possess."

Never cared for Pussburger. He was a **** then and still is on top of his disdain for Miami.

It may have been an afternoon game, but it was long after dark late in the game when Holtz was trying desperately (and failing) to find a way to avoid getting shut out. Tim Brown was on that team and won the Heisman that year. He couldn't get his team on the board vs the Canes, though.
