They don’t want to split the pie evenly with new arrivals IIRC and we not taking a lesser share to join them at this point. We got a gravy deal with the ACC allowing the CFP representative from the conference to take all the proceeds and the revenue share deal (based on who has the highest ratings. Finally brought myself to watch the replay for the first time. Defense was dominating. Offense got pinned back and went 3 and out to punt which ultimately got blocked. Cant believe they literally didn’t block the guy. The game was there for taking. Toney fielding the punt inside the 5yd really set that whole series up for failure.
Also Indiana knew every play Miami was running on offense. Miamis lack of vertical threat in the passing game really held this offense back.

Defense was good but just too many mistakes that led to points and playing off for easy throws, offsides here, facemask there, PI here, not jumping an INT there.. Call a fake on special teams and instead of executing pin your own team back, go for it on fourth down, then go for like 50 yard fg with shaky kicker who misses, etc.
And still with all of that, we had chance at end of game, with ball, time and timeouts to control everything and just tossed championship away..
Yeah it was tough. Team wasn’t sharp. If the game was 5 quarters I feel Miami was winning.
O’Connor got abused. Sucks brown didn’t play. Hard to know if that would have changed anything. Special teams needs a special teams coach. Been screaming it for years.

I think Indiana had something to do with us not being sharp. They are well coached and made fewer mistakes than did we. I think it took Mirabal a half to figure out how to counteract their D-line stunts.

uh, Indiana also had the luxury of TE Schott transferring to them before the game, maybe that was a factor in their knowing what we were running.

Them boys cheating, to know every play? To me thats a red flag dont care what anyone says. Wont be surprised in the future you hear about some shady **** with them. Its my opinion as of right now but a win is a win even if they did cheated I wont change the past. What happened happened and I hope they get caught
Im a mirabal guy but that wouldnt make much sense as we had to know that prior to game, they did it ALL SEASON.. We had almost 2 weeks to break down and every youtuber mentioned it so it couldnt be a surprise.. Also shouldnt take one half, after one drive and 2 plays on the coaching corner lounge copy, they called it out ASAP and said the way they aligned took duo away as you could only get one double team and to counter that we should run on edge..
Ill que it up for you but should be around 18 minute mark and just listen to 20 seconds.. Our hubris running up the middle no matter what from beginning of season came back and bit us in ***, smfh..
Guys, we were about a year or two ahead of schedule being in the Natty like that, and we played lights out getting into the playoffs.
George S. Patton once said that you have to shovel sh*t before you can learn how to ride a horse. Sadly, last year's Natty was our turn to shovel sh*t. Now it's time to show the country just how good Canes Football can be.
We missed chances in the Natty because we weren't ready to take that last step that the 2001 team would have taken with ease. Now I think this team is ready. The fact that most of the country still doubts us should add fuel to our fire.

The Lucas suspension for the first half hurt.
Not having Brown hurt.
Lofton's injury hurt on special teams (Bauman was his backup...ouch).

They knew something about our O. Whether it was a tell, good scouting, or something else. Watching that first half there was zero hesitation from their DBs crashing in on run plays. I mean zero. Halfway through the first quarter I was yelling at my TV begging for an RPO throw.
That AI system they use is worth billions and is no joke...it will eventually be everywhere sooner rather than later.
I'll never rewatch that game tho...
If you know all the plays a team is running and its because of a machine then it should be banned period.
Whether it was cheating or just good coaching we may never know. I got in-laws that live in Pennsylvania and one who has a close friend with direct ties to Cignetti, they say he is the best coach of all-time. He is a legend up that way.
