If all of the 2020 offensive commits actually sign and non of the current offensive players transfer, this is what 3 years of offensive commits will look like.
On paper this is a very talented group of offensive players. It will be hard to find many teams who have recruited the RB position better. There should not be a single excuse for the offensive staff in 2020.

I personally would like to see a new OC, one that will use a fast tempo spread offensive to mask the offensive line and highlight the abundance of skill position talent that South Florida offers year in and year out.

QB Jarren Williams 4 star #5 PQB in 2018 class

By the numbers
5 star players 1
4 star players 14
3 star players 11
*could be 14, 3 star players, if the staff can close on a few targets*

Players who could be in the 2020 class
WR Douglas Emilien 3 star #100 WR in 2020 class
OL Marlon Martinez 3 star #41 OG in 2020 class
OL Kobe Baynes 3 star #61 OG in 2020 class

Players who signed but are no longer on the team
WR Brian Hightower 4 star #27 WR in 2018 class
WR Marquez Ezzard 4 star #18 ATH in 2018 class
OL Cleveland Reed 4 star #12 OG in 2018

I’m sure the age of the portal has a lot to do with the transfers but the staff has to do a better job of retaining talent. With this team already in a fight to get back to 85 it is vital that this staff figures out how to keep talent on the roster.

The glaring issue that stands out in that list is the Oline - your highest rated kid coming in is playing out of position because we have done a poor job recruiting tackles. 3 of the 9 listed are projects and 1 is a DT until shown otherwise. That leaves 5 guys in 3 years who could be physically ready to contribute year 1. If we had depth already, that's fine. We didn't....which forced Zion to play when he shouldn't have and Scaife kicking outside.

OL Willie Moise 4 star #30 DT in 2020 class -who believes he will switch to o-line? yes I know he plays both ways in high school but I believe he is a better d-line prospect.

Just from a need standpoint it’s the best move. There will be at least 7 DT’s on this roster in 2020. On the flip side there will only be 4 quality OG’s. He could walk on campus and be in the 3 deep.
