247 team talent composite vs. Consensus power ratings heading into week 1

completely irrelevant without transfers and even with transfers, 247 and on3 haven't figured out how to properly weigh transfers (i.e. chiles, sayin, and Moore being above cam ward last year who was the #1 overall pick)

While I agree it isnt the best representation of talent, it’s still interesting for what it is. Just wouldn’t read too far into it.

I feel like the right way to do this is pretty simple. You use HS rankings for folks you have no CFB data for. Underclassmen you do 50/50, upperclassmen you use only CFB data. CFB their level of production compared to everyone else in their position in the sport that season.

Now you can rank people appropriately based on HS projections, and also actual college data as you get it, fully accounting for impact transfers (while deprecating high ranked HS players who don't end up doing much).

1. 247 has not updated their algorithm on transfer players in that formula. It's been mentioned quite a lot on Twitter and I presume they'll change it soon.

2. For the elderly people who don't spend too much time on social media, Bluesky is a Twitter alternative that was created and made to compete vs Twitter. It came in handy when Twitter collapsed for multiple days after the NFL free agency started and people chose to stay on it.

They include transfers, but use their HS recruit rating, which is a ****** way of doing it.

For example, David Blay is unrated even though he was a 4* transfer recruit because he was unrated out of highschool.

Beck is a 4* because he was a 4* out of HS.

You’d think they’d be able to update their algorithm pretty easily
I’m shocked they included transfers because they usually don’t, but if they do, I agree, they need to be able to update the rankings to what they’re currently ranked as. The same should be done for every team’s blue chip ratio.
