Just win. Simple as that.

Do well enough the previous season to start ranked. And effing win games. If you lose. Lose in the first 5, while being ranked near top ten. Maybe 15. But win out.

Miami can handle this if we have our ish together.
Your scenario isn't good enough for any ACC team consistently.

Facts if they see the talent we get in. If it’s an unsustainable build with not much first round types we won’t get in. If it’s a power build with first rounders yearly we will get the respect for them to let us in. Pause

Simple

The "just win" crowd isn't seeing the proverbial forest. Yes of course just win, always, all the time. The issue is when there are half a dozen teams annually that don't "just win" but still have playoff aspirations. When they're all 11-2/10-3 and get bounced by a de facto Big2 team just because.

When you have to work 3x harder for the same result, you can't "just win."

Then the ACC needs to drop the ACCCG immediately. There is no incentive to play it, only a potential penalty.
If I read it right the Conf. Champ still gets 8 mil for winning the conference.... I mean it's worth it to play...

Basically, the "every SEC and B1G team we want gets in SUCKAS!!!!"

In Summary:

Miami wins ACC or very likely NEVER makes the CFPO under 12-team format, probably not 16-team format either
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this, if you win, a power 4 conference, you will be in the playoff. Now that doesn’t mean you’re gonna get a first round bye but you will be in. What this does affect, is not having a group of five conference champion getting a first round bye which was BS from the beginning! There is no freaking way, Boise State deserved a bye last year in the playoffs, as a matter of fact, I don’t even believe they deserve a spot in the playoffs. So this new rule, trims the fat and that’s a good thing.

Why not? Tell me another sport where someone wins their conference and isnt compensated? We know they aren’t in a power conference. They did their job though and got the prize.

Your statement, where they’re not in a power conference is the answer to your question. That team talent wise had no business in the college football playoff last year and that’s a fact!

College basketball conference winners are not automatically granted the top seeds. The worst 2 actually have to play-in for the 16 seed. Wining your division in NBA no longer gets you anything.
