First off, I made this thread because I was asked to. By no means am I claiming to be an insider. What I am though is a logical person, that knows the game of recruiting and has been following it closely for many years, relates to these players, and also knows you have to find every piece of information possible before making any sort of educated opinion.

Secondly, if any of you want to post your opinions on who you think will end up in this class, please feel free to. Also if you have some information that pertains to where one of the recruits might end up, also feel free to post, but please...no stories from the barber. Lol.

I will also follow this up with a 2017 Targets list once signing day for this class is in the books. It will obviously be more target oriented than who I think will end up here, and will be a much longer list.

Let's get started. I'm going to warn you, some of you might not like what you hear about my opinion on where some of these recruits might end up. But remember there is a month left, and it it visiting time. Things are subject to change.

QB: I think its pretty safe to say QB recruiting is shut down and Jack Alison is our guy.

RB: Amir Rasul: As much as I would like to see another running back in the class, the only one I believe we have a slight shot at is Rasul. I would love to say if we get Whaley in for a visit, but I believe his commitment to Arkansas shows me one thing, he wants to be the so-called SEC back. As for Rasul, though there is a chance I don't see it as a big one. This kid is more of a follower then a leader, so if we get him on campus and he really has a good time with our players and recruits, than it's a possibility. Personally though I see him sticking with FSU.

WR: Ahmmon Richards: Obviously this kid is one of the big wants of the class, and for a good reason. And to be honest I think he does end up in this class. I personally think the relationships between him and some of the other recruits in this class is what keep him here in the end. The one and only thing I'm worried about, is if Saban decides to pull out the money bags.

Keyshawn "Pie" Young: This is one kid that when Golden was here, I had no hope in him coming, and right now he still seems to be heavily favoring Michigan. But there are two factors I'm watching for, the impact of Richt, and the idea of him going from Florida to Michigan. It is very, very cold up there, and us Florida boys don't do cold. Lol. To me he seems like he'll end up in Michigan, but this kid is straight up Miami, and he has to know that, so we'll see if that weighs on his decision.

TE: If some elite TE were to show us some love then we might go after another TE, but I'm pretty sure the staff is fine with just bringing in Irvin Jr. Which personally is just fine with me, kid can catch and block.

OL: Marcus Tatum: While some other people might think we have a chance at some others, I see it as they've already knocked us off. Even Tatum I'm not sure about as an option. He was very high on Kehoe. Now that Kehoe is gone I could see him giving Auburn or Florida more attention. There is one non-football related factor that could come in to play here for us though. Every time this kid talks about recruiting he brings up his degree, and he's said again and again Miami is the place to get that degree.

Although Tatum might be the only one on my board right now, OL is a position I expect other to come in to play late.

DE: Jordan Woods: I've never been to high on Woods, and I always thought he would end up at UF anyways, but now it seems Florida has cooled. So I see it this way, if there are the numbers to take an extra recruit, which I figure there will be because I don't see us filling all the numbers, then you might as well take him. Just replace Nelson with him if you really wanted him. He might just end up in this class. Personally I might take Nelson over him.

DT: Marcel Southall: I know a lot of you think Amir Watts should be here, but until we offer or he visits he can go on the names to watch list. Marcel like Watts was in the Simper Fi game, he is visiting this month at a spot where we currently have no players committed. If he has a good time and Richt just sells him as the missing piece to the puzzle, then maybe we might just get him on board.

LB: Three killers on deck, no need. If another ax murder would like to join and we have the scholly to offer, I wont be mad. Lol

CB: Devron Davis: It seemed to most people Devron's commitment was imminent. To me he seems like he just wanted some attention like the non-Juco recruits get. We really need DBs so I would love to take him, but I really just don't know or see that he has any real interest. I heard his dad lives down south, and he might visit. Until I here news of that though, it looks to me he might end up elsewhere.

S: Jamel Cook: Must have been two weeks ago, the majority was saying he wasn't good. Now he's a must get. Lol. Well he's always been a must get on my board. Just because he's a must get doesn't mean I feel we have a real chance. I personally think we are just to far behind in the relationships department to catch up. He's had over a year to build a relationship with FSU's players and staff, since before the time he committed. And while a lot of you think a month of recruiting is a lot of time left, it's really not for someone who has been firmly committed for six times that length of time at least. I do think there's a slight chance we could steal him away, but I don't see it happening.

ATH: Malek Young: Malek is interesting to me. I think he could end up here, but I also think it depends on where his two teammates end up. Mullen , to me is down to FSU, LSU, and Clemson. If Mullen goes to Clemson, I'd say Malek goes too. If Mullen goes elsewhere then we have a better chance at Young. Same for Victor, I feel Victor is set with picking from OSU, FLA, and maybe WV, so if Victor goes to FLA I could see Malek going there too, anywhere else and it gives us a better shot. My real hope is that his previous relationship with Richt pays off.

Names to Watch: These are recruits that might be visiting, might just have interest, but right now I just feel they are long shots.
(Devwah Whaley, Benjamin Victor, Nate Johnson Jr., Brian Burns, Amir Watts, Dandre Christmas-Giles, Trayvon Mullen, Shyhiem Carter)

If I forgot anyone please feel free to list.

Sadly theres a pretty good chance we don't end up with a single name on that list. I expect 17' to be our best class in years just bcuz Richt will have a full go at it.

It's going to be hard judging Richt on this class. We just came in late for a lot of these kids who have established relationships at other schools.

UF Has already taken 26 commits... They are TROLLING the F out of these kids... There is going to be a BUNCH of kids left holding their nutz at the alter.... That staff is starting to look real freaking amatur. HS coaches and handlers ain't going to put up with that chit...

Yep that's why I tried to warn people now that we might not get them. That way they are less upset when they go elsewhere. The only one that I can say we have a real good shot at landing is Richards. And I'm with ya 17' is the class that tells all.

I hope you are right, I would love to see FLA fall apart at the seams.

For sure, to me by no means does this class show Richt and companies recruiting abilities. It's simply just to late in the game. The next class will show what they can do.

Thanks for the work, it's always nice to read something thoughtful with a little balance instead of "everything is the worst" all the time. Wish this were a little more positive, but I have to agree. People tend to discount factors like relationships in recruiting and focus on whatever we have to offer. They wonder how a kid could go be a backup when he could start as a freshmen here or why he would go somewhere cold. The reality is that each kid is different. Some love Miami but want to experience something else so we have no chance. Some want to play for a coach or with a friend. It's never so simple as offer and call the kid a lot and you'll get him.

In-home visits and OV's in the next few weeks are going to be HUGE for this staff. They're gonna have to really sell what they're going to do.

The good news about having a brand new HC and staff is they can sell the future without having to prove anything since there hasn't been a product of them together on the field yet

Wish more people on here understood that.

Nice work. I was hoping Mark would make a bigger difference since everyone claimed him a homerun hire. Maybe when he beat noles this year, he will be hot draw for 2017.

I do believe he is a homerun hire, but like I said in another post. When Harbaugh came in late, he didn't pull in a great class. Look at Michigans recruiting this year, huge difference. It's just to late in the cycle, many relationships and bonds have already been formed at this point.

You gained a lot of credibility with me my friend. Thoughtful post. Golden should get a lot of props from fans. He left us the potential for an acceptable class. Richt is not a miracle worker. Our success this year is to convince the prospects that Golden and staff have developed over the last few years. Linebacker is fixed. CB and WR should be the focus. Hopefully we have two in each now and can add two more in each.
