The 2016 offense is going to be loaded, that's the only reason I'm pulling for golden this year. We're only losing 2 wr and we're going to have a 3 headed monster at RB. Well also have the most versatile te group we've had in a long time. Also all 5 Starting O lineman will return.

Feel like we've been saying this for a decade........in college football, coaching matters. Those guys will be here for the next coach as well and hopefully he's competent.

The 2016 team will be stacked...so let's root for a coach who is sure to squander the talent?

Seems legit.

In terms of talent, I think the defense should be even better off than the offense in '16. I wrote out a depth chart the other day (on this message board) of what I thought could be a great upfield defense. Of course, early departures of Grace, Elder and/or Burns would throw that completely off.

Whatever happens this season, I hope it happens swiftly and there's a resolution going into January. If there were to be a coaching change, recruiting our own players back for next year could be a huge swing.

We have some depth issues next year for sure, but there's some really nice talent available to Golden, if he survives, or whoever the next guy may be.

The team doesn't lack for talent and a real coaching staff will not have to rebuild by any means.

I am actually more excited about the defense then I am the offense. We will just lose Bush (Jenkins is a more then solid replacement), Kirby (Young or Shaq can step in here) , Kamalu (Jenkins or GWillis will lock this down) , and Hert (I think we are all excited about Norton).

But we will need a competent DC to not F it up of course.

Imagine if Butch hired a guy like Jim Leavitt to run the defense. My god that would be a scary *** 4-3 defense.

Here's what I wrote in the other thread:

If Elder and Burns stay at Corner, along with Grace staying in school to gain weight and max his draft status, I'd estimate you're looking at the 2nd most talented defense in the ACC, at worst:

DE AQM/Harris
DT Jenkins/Moten/Mcintosh
DT Norton/Willis
DE Thomas/Jackson

LB Grace/Mcray
LB Young/Smith (prob true frosh)
LB Owens/Gayot

CB Elder/Redwine
S Johnson
S Jenkins/Carter
CB Burns

All those thing will be there without Al Golden in 2016

I thought I read somewhere that if Golden is fired that Bruce would re open is recruitment. I could be wrong.

It was said somewhere. If I'm Bruce, however, I really think about it.

One of the main things this offense needs next year (from a talent standpoint!) is electricity in the slot. While Berrios could return and provide a nice punch from there, maybe, he's not as talented as Bruce. Bruce's ability is a perfect complement for our needs, and he'd likely have 2 full years of a polished, star QB to help make him shine.

From a football standpoint, it's a pretty easy pitch to Sam Bruce. Then again, I thought it was an easy pitch to Tim Irvin. We needed a short-area burst type of Safety. Still do; even with J. Johnson.

We need another Nose, Sam, Mike, and another corner. If I was golden I would be begging Rashad Robinson, and Valentine to come here from Juco. Would never happen tho

If Al stays, history tells us all that who can leave will leave. Grace and Corn for sure. Artie might need a couple more picks to show improved ball skills, but measurables alone might carry him. Maybe someone like Butch could keep them hear with the hope of moving into top rounds after year of Butch. I suspect Al firing date will have more to do with the date his severance goes down to next level than anything football related. BOT has made it clear to care not about football.

It doesnt who plays what if the coaches dont put them in the best positions to make plays like golden has done the past 4 years

Edwards will be playing, so we'll have 4 quality RBs plus Homer coming in who we could afford to redshirt unless he sets the world on fire (always a possibility at the TB position)...

I think Burns is more likely to leave than Elder - not because he has produced more, but because Artie's size/speed will help his draft stock. Other than that, agree.

Just waiting for the collapse of this class, like 15' and 14'
And a the day one of the 16' kids fall off a 17' kid commits and
We get to hear how great 17' is going to be, that negative fans chased off the 16' kids, bla bla...
Same stuff, the carrot in front of you routine.. You shall see

Man, if the guy makes adjustments in his coaching this season like he has made it in his recruiting look out! That is a very talented team and the class next year will only help. Look at all that Florida talent.
