I have to go and find the article but if I remember correctly he has excellent strength and weight room numbers and runs 4.9 or something ridiculous like that. Give me a few minutes to find it

Warhawks' Walton rules weight room
When Brandon Walton walks into a room, eyes immediately stare up at him, wide with awe.

When the Seminole offensive lineman steps onto the field, heads continue to turn, especially those of college recruiters.

Walton, a rising senior, is 6 feet 5, 285 pounds. It is not just his size that makes him stand out, but his strength. He can bench press 330 pounds, squat 440 and dead lift 470.

Because of that combination, Walton should become Seminole's first Division I football signee in 13 years.

"It's been a while since colleges have been around here," coach Chris Miller said. "Brandon's big, and it's all muscle. He's just a monster in the weight room. On the field, he's a mauler who is only going to get better."

Walton has nine offers, including four in the past two days. The biggest came from Kentucky, his first from an SEC school.

"I never really expected this," said Walton, who also plays basketball. "My coach during my sophomore year said I was going to do big things, but I never really bought into it until last year when some college started showing interest in me. That got me going, and I started working even harder."

The list of offers will continue to grow as Walton does the heavy lifting for a line that is battling through some injuries this spring. Jordan Halfinds and Cameron Barauskis return, but Miller said he will have to go with younger players to fill the rest of the spots on the line.

It also means Walton has to switch from left tackle to guard for the spring game against Dunedin.

"I get to go out and pull now so that's fun," Walton said. "Everybody is trying to learn new positions so it will benefit everyone."

I don like 2016 OL Brandon Waltons highlights he plays with a nasty streak, but I think there are better options OL still available on the board.

Those weight room are pedestrian for Power 5 Olinemen, will say this his length does present an an issue when lifting weights but if he has been in serious high school S&C program then those numbers should be better. Now if he rarely works out then those are very good baseline numbers. Generally as Power 5 conference linemen you want to be benching in the 400lb range coming out of school and definitely squatting / dead lifting north of 550lbs.

Consider this video below by a kid (Deadlifting 501lbs) in florida who probably weighs 80lbs less than B. Walton

Recruiting roundup: 4-star DL likes Miami, hoops official visit breakdown | Canes Watch

Recruiting roundup: 4-star DL likes Miami, hoops official visit breakdown
By Matt Porter Aug 28, 2015

A few notes on Hurricanes recruiting to kick off your weekend …

* Four-star defensive tackle Darius Whitfield (6-1, 268), from Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul’s High, told Canesport he plans to choose between UM, South Carolina, Missouri and Florida on Oct. 13. He wants to take an official visit to UM before then.

* Four-star wide receiver Freddie Swain will visit Tennessee Oct. 10 and Miami Oct. 17, Scout reported. Swain (6-0, 177), from Citra-North Marion High, is rated the No. 3 receiver in Florida. Florida and USC are reportedly contenders. His teammate, uncommitted three-star defensive end Jordan Woods, will accompany Swain to UM.

* Rivals analyst Rob Cassidy on recent UM commit Jawaan Taylor, a three-star offensive lineman from Cocoa High: “They’ve got to like his power. That’s what pops off the page when you see him, his upper-body strength … he carries some bad weight, but the raw tools are there and he moves his feet well for someone 330 pounds.” Cassidy predicted a redshirt season as a freshman for Taylor, so Miami can “reshape him.”

* The Hurricanes are the frontrunner to land three-star offensive tackle Brandon Walton, of Seminole High, according to Canesport. Walton (6-5, 285) said he likes Miami more than Vanderbilt, one other school he’ll visit this fall. Walton’s other major-conference offer is from Kentucky.

* UM safety commit James Pierre said UNC is making a run at him. He told Canesport the Hurricanes are “definitely at the top” but there’s a “small chance” he could flip to the Tar Heels. Pierre (6-2, 170), a three-star recruit, said North Carolina State, West Virginia and Bowling Green are recruiting him the hardest, aside from UM.

* Canesport reported UM is working hard to flip Eddy Pineiro, one of the top kickers in the nation. Pineiro (6-1, 180), from North Miami Beach, is an Alabama commit. He attends ASA College Miami, where he has hit from as far as 73 yards in training sessions. He told Canesport his family is “all UM fans,” but he grew up rooting for the Crimson Tide.

* Hoops news: three of the Hurricanes’ top targets in the 2016 class set their official visit dates to Miami. Tampa Prep’s Juwan Durham (6-9, 200), the No. 38 player in the class and ninth among power forwards by ESPN, will visit Sept. 18. Miami Norland standout Dewan Huell (6-9, 230), ranked 21st nationally and No. 5 among power forwards, arrives Oct. 2. Lima (Oh.) Senior High point guard Xavier Simpson (5-11), ranked 12th among point guards and 66th nationally, comes Oct. 10.

With Tatum committing to Tenn it time to revisit the recruitment of Brandon Walton who is committed to FAU. I like Walton's growth as a senior you can clearly tell he has put in work to get stronger.

Committed to FAU? No thanks. Our problem isn't bodies on the OL, it's talent on the edges.

He is a developmental olinemen that will blossom by his redshirt soph year. He is a Plan B guy for a lot of Southeast schools but he committed to FAU to secure a spot if the bigger schools don't give him a commutable offer.

ya'll talk crap about him, without giving a reason based on his performance. Please provide supporting analysis or keep quiet.

Go Canes
