As many have expected, we're sliding down the ranks a bit. Currently sitting at #7 .

Hopefully we can hold all of these guys and add a few more 4 stars (dare I say 5 stars) along the way.

We need to win badly this year or we might be in for an even more epic slide than last year.

2016 Football Recruiting Team Rankings

1. LSU
2. FSU
3. Ohio State
4. Alabama
5. USC
6. Penn St.
7. Miami
8. Michigan
9. Michigan St.
10. Ole Miss

In terms of the ranking, I'll say this about the talent collection. There are a fee guys that I don't see as Miami caliber like Moss, Pulley, and Henderson but there are a lot of players that are grossly underrated. Byrd, Richards, McCloud, Pinckney, Jackson, Wright, and even Irvin are not being given proper respect.

The class still needs to be better and with the last few seasons of disappointment that's a concern but it's sitting a little better than #7 .

I like where we are.
OSU won the NC last year.
FSU is the best team in the most talent rich state.
Bama is Bama.
#7 is pretty good with a shot to creep back into the top 5.
That being said, I agree with Fountain of Cane above. No matter what the rankings say in the end, this is a great class.

I agree on Moss and Pulley. Henderson is going to blow up this Fall...just wait.

And realistically should be even lower. There are another 8 in the top 25 with higher average recruit ratings, but due to volume are behind us.

We will be around 20 - 25 or so when all said and done. Some attrition with current committees, and some additions.

And this gets said every year, the sites are undervaluing our future .500 ballers. If any of these kids do anything like win a national award they will be the first since Winslow.

I heard the same thing about Brady and Langham. My expectations on the tall, unheralded receivers is generally low.

On that same point, we are benefitting largely from sheer volume at this point but they're still quality players that are being underrated. It's a talent pool that can be used to win, even though I'm not in the, "They're all great and the class is perfect no matter what," group It's above average and successful quality across the board.

I agree, I love some of the pieces, as pieces. And I know better than to suggest you are wearing your caneshades when you make your assessment, but I am not putting my money on us having a crop of unexpected all americans in three years. It is just close to football season and all my oregon fan co workers are talking about the same thing, except they actually win with theirs. I'm ******* hurt dawg.

The reason Miami likely won't have any unexpected All-Americans isn't because the players themselves are not talented; it will be because Golden and staff have no clue how to put players in a position to succeed on the field.

Miami's problem is poor coaching. The 2016 class is excellent talent wise but unfortunately it will all be for naught if the coaching does not improve.

I didn't think you were making a Caneshades comparison. Have no fear. I'm hurting right there with you.
