Brother... I still remember walking the short tunnel to my OB 12 yardline row 32 seats in the closed end and having complete confidence that we were gonna kick the ****t out of whoever our opponent was. Having lived 22 years in those seats makes what we are seeing today a **** heartbreak... that can have been prevented if the BOT and the school not abandoned football as they have. SMH
BIG OL’ SKOOL PROPS RIGHT HERE AND 110% SPOT ON....MOST CURRENT FANS NOW DON’T REALIZE WHAT FOOTE AND SHALALA DID TO GUT OUR FOOTBALL PROGRAM...THEY PUMPED THE POLITICALLY CORRECT “CHARMIN EXTRA SOFT” INTO THIS PROGRAM AND STR8UP KILLED IT....JJ’s PHILOSOPHY WAS ALWAYS THAT YOU CAN’T HAVE RABID ANIMALS TERRORIZING THE FIELD SATURDAYS AND EXPECT THEM TO GO TO CONFESSIONALS ON SUNDAY...

BOOM!!!

I’m very aware of how UHealth is creating revenue. My wife retired from the U’s surgery department and I made good friends with her chief and other faculty MDs... we have discussed how UHealth was getting real big, plus my wife was privy to ledger numbers. My son graduated from the U and I have seen first hand how his degree helped in his success.
I’m also aware from previous encounters with you here that you are not a pleasant member to exchange with and you‘re ate up with yourself.
Look, I don’t come on here much anymore so please spare me your demeaningly smug posts.
But hey you have a Happy New Year.
End thread with that massacre.

Shalala did a fantastic job of bolstering the medical school by neglecting the gridiron... SwagU became UHealth.
The smart thing to do IMO is maintain academic and athletic at a high level... there's colleges that are doing it.

The way this school loves to take your money I find it inexplicable that they didn't put more money into the football program. The ticket sales and, merchandise(used to see UM stuff EVERYWHERE. Now I see it on homeless drunks who got the shirts and hats from Goodwill or some other charity.) alone must have brought in gobs of cash. Instead, they kill that golden goose outright and now the entire athletic department is just pure ***. For what? The academics are in the toilet, too. The whole admins is just as incompetent as ****. And don't get me started on our unqualified POS AD.
Something needs to be done or in 10-15 years the U will be part of FIU.

You must not be remotely aware that a key component of many academic rankings, in addition to driving consistent revenue for a major University, is a strong hospital system.

Are you an alum? It's weird how I spent six figures on a degree and actually care about the strength of it.

But hey, Bama is really producing some graduates getting jobs in major global corporations and research institutions.
What do you expect on a football board my global brethren

@mirednmediocrity2, my brother I'm just a BIG FAN from Jersey since 1989, it's sad to see a great thing just go straight to the shltter!

Sometimes I feel the admin uses the past to promote the future but they do nothing else about it. Just smoke and mirrors. SAD STATE

Your post is dead on....

We beat the crap out dem turds on the streets of N'awlins! Then the next day we did this to them:

Life was good!

GO CANES!!!

Its interesting to think how that 2000 season would have played out in today's 4-team playoff system. If we go by the top four in the polls it might look like this:

(1)OU - vs - (4)Washington Huskies (Orange Bowl)
(2)FSU - vs - (3)Canes (rematch) (Fiesta Bowl?)

If they didnt want a rematch in the semi-final, who could they give the last spot to?

(5)Oregon State (10-1 2nd in PAC10)?
(6)Va Tech (10-1 2nd in Big East) ?
(7)UF (10-2 SEC champs)

I think Oregon State was the second best team in 2000. Their only loss came when they got hosed by the Pac10 refs and lost to Washington on a last second field goal in Seattle. They beat notre dame like a rented mule in the Fiesta Bowl.

gotta feel sorry as **** for any Canes fan who never experienced the pure electricity of being in the Orange Bowl on
a Saturday night watching Miami dominate and kick the dog**** out of any poor ******** that were unlucky enough to be on that
sacred field that night. ... nothing in college football ever has or ever will match that magic place !
