10+ win team.

Butch Davis will make this team a 10+ win team next season no doubt in my mind. That + he will keep this class intact.. Give him Artie+Elder back so won't be so depleted at DB, and that boy Gerald Willis is coming next year this team will be nasty.. Only him and Chip Kelly maybe will be able to do that, keep these Juniors for their senior season, and keep this class intact that is. I'm impressed with the heart these kid showed today, and I feel for em.. How they competed with such bad coaching really is astonishing. Jimbo lucked out with Winston and Al Golden sorry *** coaching the Canes.. No matter the many 5 star recruits he gets, it won't matter once Butch comes.

Talent is not our problem, coaching is. Talent has kept us from losing 8 games a year. Finally, this numbnut Golden decided to pair AQM w Thomas....a little too late. Arrogance and lack of situational coachin has led to demise of this team's strength. Can u imagine what Butch will be able to do w a front seven of Chad, AQM, Norton, and Willis manning the front 4 and Grace, Quarterman, and Owens manning the LB position?

Butch gonna put these boys in position to succeed. Jamal Carter could lay some boys out man, and with a little help from the godfather himself.. this dude could be a **** good SS. Let Butch work his magic on him, and CT 99.. My God .. He will revive this program like he did b4, but this time in his first year. I'm just going to keep saying it. #BBB till it happens..
 
Well, we better get Butch Davis signed sealed and delivered before someone else takes him off the market. With this garbage heap of an administration I won't stop worrying until I hear Flake say " Please welcome the university of Miami's new head football coach Butch Davis!!" at the press conference.Until that very moment we can all expect them to F this up.

If you said Gary Patterson, then I would agree with, but Butch? He's a great recruiter, but wasn't always the best gameday coach. Lets not rewrite History. I want Butch for the recruits he will get, but Patterson is the one who gets wins, even with less talent.

Let's not re-write history huh? Dude dealt w 30 lost schollies...had to deal w a mini death penalty, yet he went undefeated in bowl games, won the Big East 3x in 6 yrs. Was cheated out of a national title in 2000....yet u, who I'm sure is not a true Cane fan is basing things off of what? What a couple of porsters have spread rumors about? U have no clue what Butch had to deal w...yet his team beat the number 2 team in the nation when we stunk. When the gloves came off, The U trampled everyone under Butch. Slappy was the benefactor b/c his players were so well coached, they could run the program themselves. Go back and revisit history instead of trying to re-create something to justify ur point.
 
That UCLA team was overrated that year IMO, but it was still an unexpected and great win for us. The only two decent teams they played and beat that year was Arizona and Texas who was just alright. They lost to us and then the Rose Bowl game to Wisconsin which was their home stadium and the equivalent to us playing in the Orange Bowl.

UNC was as talented or more so than anyone not named us or FSU. Even with all that talent, Butch managed to squander it. He did get robbed his final year here and would've had a MNC as we would've beat OU. Great talent evaluator, but average at best come game day. He could set the stage for someone else and I'd be okay with that. Talent is as even across the country as I've ever seen it.

This is true. There is zero reason to think the BOT will not f this up.
 
Butch was a crappy game day coach but it didn't stop him from assembling the most talented team in college football history. He also started making UNC a legit team before he got the boot. He is our best option because we can get him on the cheap.

Well besides bolting to the NFL first chance he got, he was simply mentioned with academic fraud which is enough to scare any administration away. This ain't a SEC school that puts winning and money above the fact that they run an institution of higher learning. They care about that reputation and because of this he's not coming back

UNC was a good / legit team before Butch. Ever hear of a guy named Mack Brown? He had multiple 10 win seasons there when seasons were shorter.

Where has he ever said he would come here cheaply? **** is said on a message board and then repeated as fact, this being a classic example.

Also to the OP, Butch has one 10 win season in 10 years of coaching. BHim and 10 wins don't go together or haven't to this point.

Butch had 3 straight 8 wins seasons at UNC. UNC had only won 8 games one time in the previous 10 seasons before Butch so I'm not sure how legit they were.
