#1 Class in Jeopardy

IMO we have the #1 class because of numbers, basically we have more commits than anyone else.

We're actually under ranked at this point.

McCarthur Burnett, Deion Jackson, and Amir Rasul alone are going to receive MAJOR love once the summer is over and they've torn through the camps.

We have a lot of guys who are going to jump like Travis Rudolph did.

AVERAGE STAR RATING > CLASS RANKING

When we have highly rated classes, it is because we have 25+ recruits.

We are quantity over quality at this point. Not to say we don't have elite studs, cuz we do. But we are only ranked high because we have a lot of commits. I'll wait until January to worry about it for more reasons than one.

Disagree. Last year around summer our class ranking was high because of numbers but not quality. This year we are undervalued imo

Shaq is only a 93. Zach mccloud would be a high 4* or 5* if he was committed elsewhere. Tyler Byrd is severely undervalued. Burnett is undervalued. They have dionte mullins as a 88. Ahmmon richards is undervalued.

Lol. Look at the top 10 on The 247 composite. It's simple math...

UM has anywhere from 5 to 12 more commit's than everybody in the top 10. obviously it's ranked 1st right now because of a numbers issue. Kentucky is the only school close to UM in total commits at 15, and they will also drop as the big teams start getting commits.

OSU is 4th with 8 commits! Most schools only have 7-10 commits now.

other teams have guys that are "undervalued" too, and deserve bumps as the rankings are redone.

FSU has a chance to sign the #1 SDE, #2 WDE, #2 CB, #1TE, and maybe the #1 WR. And That's just who they have commited or lead for right now. The types of Players that there is no debate about because they are clearly elite 5 star caliber.

OSU, Bama, USC, LSU, And FSU simply recruit at a higher level. Plus how many of these guys stick after a 7-8 win season?

By looking at the 247 composite it clearly is going to support the argument of quantity over quality. Like I said the players are undervalued. Looking at rankings will not change the fact they are undervalued.

Last year Michael Jackson got an 88 ranking. Right now Tyler Byrd has a 88 as well. Those guys are not even close to the same league as prospects. Darrell Langham was an 88 and now dionte mullins is. Again, not in the same league. Therefore, the players are undervalued and looking at rankings will not decide anything. What will help validate my claim is the offer sheets from our prospects 10-20 are very good and it's only April. I haven't done a comparisions but I feel we have more SEC offers than we did in the past 4-5 years. Also, although some websites rank our commits as a 3* I believe 18 out of our 20 commits are ranked a 4* on at least one website.

I could care less where we end up in the rankings because this class 1-20 is better than any of Golden's classes at the moment (for filling our needs, except dt). Obviously I don't expect everyone to stick, history shows there are 5-10 more decommitments coming, but as it stands it's very strong.

Im old school, give me film and i can tell you if they can play or not. rankings mean nothing. some recruits are spot on with the rankings some are way off.

If our commits were commited to other schools with more paid $ubscribers or was commited to bama or others they would shoot up in rankings

Recruit rankings, stars, #1 classes, all that is irrelevant when Al Golden is the CEO.

Unfortunately player and class rankings do count...Just look at FSU-Alabama-Ohio State and Oregon's class and player rankings the past three years, and you should conclude the way to a national title game is to get as many 5*/4*'s as possible..FSU has half as many commits as "The U" but it's quality from top to bottom..No 1 and 2 Qb's..No 1 and 2 Wr's..No 1 and 2 Rb's, No 1 and 2 Db's, and a boatload of defensive players the last two years we would love to have at "The U"..Our last great class was Randy's All Jacory guys and we saw that they turned out to be a 50/50 win loss class..In our glory days ( prior to fifteen years ago ) we would get a top ten class about every 10 years. BUT IT WAS GREAT COACHING THAT TOOK 2*/3* STARS AND TURNED THEM INTO WELL TUNED ASSASSIANS, THAT TOOK NO PRISONERS, AND LOOKED FORWARD TO PLAYING FOR A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP EACH YEAR, BEFORE HEADING TO THE PRO'S. We now have coaches who take solace in being competitive against FAMU, FIU ,Bethune Cookman and Arky State..If the class of 16 were all 5*'s, as long as Golden and Don'tno Defense are coaching, they still wouldn't get to a conference championship..
