The native son, Mario Cristobal, has brought this program from the absolute cellar back into the national championship conversation. He left a big-time program that he had rebuilt into a national championship caliber team to take this job when we were one of the biggest laughingstocks in college football. He took on a complete, from the ground up rebuild because he felt he owed it to us and to this program a nd he has delivered, with many more games like this still to come. When many of us were doubting him and calling him a terrible coach he didn't make any excuses, kept his head down and kept grinding.

I just can’t believe it. My final memory of greatness felt assured to be a penalty flag in Arizona… here we are ready to play for a title.
