“I couldn't go to the grave without Miami being Miami again”

I was adamant this past off season that this was a 10 win team, ACC Championship, playoff roster. I also repeated coaching would be the only question in fulfilling those goals. Obviously, the ACC is why we didn't fulfill one. I was confident Mario made the right hires on defense. I knew Mario could and had built the roster. I still questioned his coaching. He answered all my questions or concerns after the SMU loss. I was down after that loss and I was staking another red flag on him. He responded strongly to it. Knock on wood, he got us in the playoffs and won a playoff game. I felt so happy and relieved, like a burden had been lifted. Obviously, he won against OSU, not many outside of us thought he could. The Ole Miss win, took this to another level. I thought for sure their scheme and tempo would bring back out bad Mario clock management, in game stuff, not a loss. He answered that. I was wrong. Now at home for the NC. That's my coach, damnit. LFG, Canes!

Mario is both the reason we are here and the reason we didn’t win the ACC.

I'd run through a wall for that guy. Dude has a genuine, psychotic commitment to making us dominate. And that passion is specific to Miami. He'd be successful in other places (like he was at Oregon), but this hits different for him - and the results will be different because of it.

What a difference between Mario and someone like Kiffin or Riley or whoever else. Those guys are motivated my money and winning, for sure, but they're not motivated by the actual school and community. It makes a difference.

Mario is genuine and believable, these kids have bought in. Whether it’s the homeboys, portal guys and recruits they are all in on the culture here. They love Mario and each other and prepared to go to War with him. Win or lose the culture shift has been seismic and about to be an earthquake at The Rock. 🙌🏽 GO CANES
