I don't know if it's saltiness, but for some reason Consigliere doesn't see reality on this one.

There is a risk and a reward to every decision. The certain loss of a year of income to likely (based upon the statistics) be a second round pick next year (the risk) clearly outweighed the potential, but very unlikely, reward of being a first round pick in 2019 (there were two 22yo players...

You wrote: I have consistently asked for the same thing. I just asked for data showing a 22 YO (over a 21 YO) will be drafted significantly lower. I NEVER said anything about first round picks. I ONLY wanted to know how much of a difference it makes between that one year. By NFC showing there...

    Bruce Brown is a Piston

My point was not that he would be unlikely to improve if he returned. My point is that even if he did improve, because of his age, it is highly unlikely that his draft position would improve enough to push him into the first round (the only round that matters).

How is someone supposed to get data on how many 21yos compared to 22yos entered their names in the nba draft? It's probably hundreds every year. You've set an impossible standard to be proven wrong. The clear evidence is that the older you get the less likely you are to be a first round pick...

This is such a bizarre debate. Everybody is saying the sky is blue except one person saying it's green.

    Bruce Brown is a Piston

As I posted earlier, if you break it down specifically between 21 and 22, there have been twenty-four 21yo players drafted (in the 1st round) in the past 5 years, compared to seventeen 22yo players (a not insignificant 30% difference). A 21yo therefore has a greater percentage chance of being...

All of this is of course spot on.

My statistics were only first round picks (second round picks are meaningless, probably worse than going undrafted because at least if you are undrafted you are free to sign with any team you want). It's blatantly obvious that the older you get, the less chance you have of being a first round...

The NBA draft is getting younger almost every year. In the past 5 years there have been a total of twenty 22 and 23yo players drafted in the 1st round, compared to fifty-seven 20 and 21yo players, and seventy-three 18 and 19yo players. Clearly, your odds of being a first round pick decline...

He was injured the whole season. First his wrist, then his leg. Like I said before, he was like Mark Walton Jr. Contract year injury bust.

This is a good point that I never thought about. Brown Jr. looked like a grown man as a freshman because he was basically a grown man as a freshman.

He needed to go. If he stayed another year he would have been starting his pro career at 23. That's practically a senior citizen by nba draft standards. He's simply a 2nd round talent.

Wish him the best. Think he'll end up in Europe.
