McMahon pitched Wednesday against Japan. He threw three innings allowing two runs on a hit and four walks. He struck out five batters.

At least in the context of this summer as I starter, I can’t help but think about his outing against UNC where he went out in middle relief to eat innings. He seemed to get better with each inning he pitched in that appearance.

McMahon went 5.0 innings allowing a run on three hits with 3K/1BB against Cuba last week. He went 4.0 scoreless innings allowing just two hits with 7K/1BB against Chinese Taipei today.

McMahon made the USA Baseball roster. In his lone training camp appearance, he went 1.2 innings giving up three hits and a run. They next play Cuba July 2-6.

He hurt his wrist/hand in late March, but was supposedly close to being healthy in early May. Hopefully the roster will be updated with the returning players soon like it was around this time last year.

The Cape season starts tonight. Lala and Gil are our only players listed on the active rosters. It appears the rest are taking some time off before heading up. Lala is in the leadoff spot for Orleans tonight.

The staff works to get them into the right summer assignment. We tend to send our guys to the same teams year after year, often with a teammate on the same team or in the next town over.
