I'm sure that'll soon be in the works, if it isn't already.

Was thinking, say, of Nijel Pack. I originally read he was to receive $400,000 total for NLI/services to Life Wallet, split over last hoops season and this one about to start. Didn't sound like he was getting the entire amount up front. Maybe he did? Maybe that money was put in escrow? Just as...

Any of our athletes left holding an empty bag? In future money "owed"?

Yep, the Cavinders fame was such that they became a "national" brand, far more than, say, Nigel Pack. Speaking of Pack, he was reported to get $800,000 over two seasons from LFW. Do any of the other deals for individual UM athletes approach/top that? The ROI to any business would be...

The original lawsuit, correct me if I'm wrong, was to provide athletes compensation from an "employer/sponsor" for use of their Name, Image and/or Likeness. The whole NIL thing was never intended to "buy better players and win." That may have become the reality, but it was not the intent.

We'll never know but ... sure would be informative to know the $$ totals from Ruiz and from other sponsors. Of course, it's possible - depending on the size of the "contract" amount -- to sponsor more people and provide less money, or vice versa.

Thought Canes Connection was just getting up and running. The collective approach is def the way to go in the future. The bigger six figure $$ NIL outlays thus far, Nigel Pack and Isaiah Wong to name two, were from Ruiz. As were the well-publicized Cavender Twins. Who sponsored TVD on the...

Yep. Still, the University will still come out of this with a big black eye from public perception.

How might this affect conference realignment and the Canes place in that? Sure won't help us with the B1G.

Yeah, Shapiro at one point early on was "helping the Canes" too. Until he wasn't. When I first read about Ruiz I said that he'd be the subject of the next Corben "documentary" in about 3 years time. That timetable may be moving up.

Anyone can come up with a one off here and there. Like, I read somewhere a FIU player benefitted. All good but we're talking the great majority of Miami athletes who are receiving compensation (in some cases, a good amount) through LFW. If LFW is indeed on life support, hopefully other big...

So the NIL $$ is to pay for a player's name, image or likeness. It's not to sweep a warehouse floor in anonymity. Where's the ROI for a businessman making those payments if not in publicity/recognition? Can you name a group of players (even a handful) paid by anyone other than Ruiz? Even...

That's reassuring. Any businessman needs to see some ROI.

Even with Life Wallet, were these players appearing in local ads for Ruiz's product, doing personal appearances, etc? What exactly was he getting for his money?

I'm sticking with my 80-90% until proven wrong. Why would other donors stay silent? No reason to. Don't have to be as "loud" as Ruiz but ... your're marketing something ostensibly using the NIL of the athlete.

It would be interesting to know what percentage of UM's NIL cash that Ruiz has funded thus far, compared with all others. 90%? 80%

I'm totally with you on the comments I bolded. Also can't help but wonder exactly WHAT is the ROI Ruiz/LW is receiving? Are these players featured on billboards or local TV ads for LW in South Florida??
