I just can not believe that 50% or more of "season tix holders" wouldn't come out to games they've already paid for, or at least give the tix away to people who would come. Sure, there are always no shows in sold out arenas, but ... nowhere near to the tremendous extent you'd have us believe was...
What's decent to your mind (in an arena that is already very small (8000) by major college basketball standards)? Talking about actual butts in seats.
In an area the size of Greater Miami, with no competing major college programs, you'd think 75% full would be the "floor" for even the...
Exactly. For all we know, the Ath Dept would probably tell you the place is "sold out" this season too. When those "sold out" years were trumpeted, there was no way there would've have been 60-70% "no shows" at all those games. Probably was a marketing ploy to try to make a season ticket seem...
Still, Howard took them down to the wire here in DC. And Howard isn't very good. As usual, ND has a bunch of good three point shooters. Over the years, I've thought they were the league team most like us, i.e., depending heavily on the 3 ball!
I just don't understand. ND is a quality game against a UM team that is providing exciting, quality basketball. It's not on a "work night" or a "school night," traffic shouldn't be that bad, etc.
If last Saturday's sell out against the Noles was because the place was packed with FSU fans...
Another great UM player. Bruce Hale had a pipeline going from the Hoosier State. You could write him in for 20+ every game. Scored over 2000 points at UM and is another UM player in the Indiana HS Hall of Fame.
Check my post (#31 in this thread). Never saw a game at Dinner Key but ... many at both the Miami Beach Auditorium, and at the Convention Hall next door.
When I was at the U as a student (1963-66), the "home" games were played over at the Miami Beach Auditorium or the Miami Beach Convention Hall.
Few students made that trek over to Washington Avenue despite those teams winning a lot of games, averaging over 100 ppg, and having consensus AA Rick...
