    SHOW UP TO THE WATSCO

I just can not believe that 50% or more of "season tix holders" wouldn't come out to games they've already paid for, or at least give the tix away to people who would come. Sure, there are always no shows in sold out arenas, but ... nowhere near to the tremendous extent you'd have us believe was...

    SHOW UP TO THE WATSCO

What's decent to your mind (in an arena that is already very small (8000) by major college basketball standards)? Talking about actual butts in seats. In an area the size of Greater Miami, with no competing major college programs, you'd think 75% full would be the "floor" for even the...

    SHOW UP TO THE WATSCO

Exactly. For all we know, the Ath Dept would probably tell you the place is "sold out" this season too. When those "sold out" years were trumpeted, there was no way there would've have been 60-70% "no shows" at all those games. Probably was a marketing ploy to try to make a season ticket seem...

    SHOW UP TO THE WATSCO

Didn't they use to try to "paper the house" with free tix at Publix? Or, $1 or $2 tickets? Back in the Ryder Center/Convo Ctr days.

Still, Howard took them down to the wire here in DC. And Howard isn't very good. As usual, ND has a bunch of good three point shooters. Over the years, I've thought they were the league team most like us, i.e., depending heavily on the 3 ball!

    SHOW UP TO THE WATSCO

I just don't understand. ND is a quality game against a UM team that is providing exciting, quality basketball. It's not on a "work night" or a "school night," traffic shouldn't be that bad, etc. If last Saturday's sell out against the Noles was because the place was packed with FSU fans...

    SHOW UP TO THE WATSCO

Glad to hear that. For sure, this was a performance where you'd want as many fans/potential fans exposed to such a sweet win.

    SHOW UP TO THE WATSCO

The TV shot panning the arena at tip off showed a ton of empty seats. Hope someone can tell me the attendance was better than it looked!!

Hopefully, rhat won't happen. Imagine if SoFla crowds had to contend with ice, sleet and snow like elsewhere.

Another great UM player. Bruce Hale had a pipeline going from the Hoosier State. You could write him in for 20+ every game. Scored over 2000 points at UM and is another UM player in the Indiana HS Hall of Fame.

    SHOW UP TO THE WATSCO

Check my post (#31 in this thread). Never saw a game at Dinner Key but ... many at both the Miami Beach Auditorium, and at the Convention Hall next door.

    SHOW UP TO THE WATSCO

When I was at the U as a student (1963-66), the "home" games were played over at the Miami Beach Auditorium or the Miami Beach Convention Hall. Few students made that trek over to Washington Avenue despite those teams winning a lot of games, averaging over 100 ppg, and having consensus AA Rick...

    SHOW UP TO THE WATSCO

How many does the "Student section" seat, and what % is usually filled when school is fully in session?
