    jkdood, I thought all that "Coach 3 (Larranaga)" FBI stuff was about dealings with Nassir Little, not about Hernandez at all.

    Don't think he's talking about Coach L. Think he's referring to Dewan. The kid should've known better than to even say hello to an agent, no less get into some detailed discussion with the agent's "runner."

    Well, we brought in Larkin (signed with DePaul), Kadji (xsfer from UF) and McKinney-Jones (xsfer from UMKC) so ... it can be done.

    That's a good point, CT. All I can think of is UM must have seen or heard something that made them feel they HAD to go this route. If that was the case and they didn't ask the NCAA for a ruling ... maybe they feared some stiffer penalty to the program itself.

    All good questions and requests. I don't think you have to actually take $$ in a case like this, though, to be declared ineligible.

    Their cases might be totally different. Or, maybe not. I never saw the particulars of a Huell-type "contract" with either of them.

    As many here have said before., no criminal charge does not equal a positive outcome ruling on the eligibility of the student athlete by the NCAA. Apples and oranges.

    The fact is that all along it was the NCAA - not UM - that was the reason for Dewan not playing. You never could explain what motive UM would've had for taking a position detrimental to their own basketball program. Now it's clear that they did not!
