Trout love the grass flats. We'd throw out ratlin chub bug top waters and watch the show. They attack like bass. Very aggressive fish. And soo tasty.

I look at catching a tarpon like going into a boxing match. The tarpon always comes out throwing hey makers in round one. If you survive and still have it on, then it proceeds to jab and bodyshot you for the next 10 rounds. An hour or two later in round 12, if you survived you can get the KO...

Here is a Flamingo mangrove snook circa 2000. There was a spot 5 minutes from the marina where you'd be on a huge snook, red, jewfish or shark and you'd never know but it was fun.

I love those action photos. They are special! There is nothing better than the first 5 minutes of a tarpon fight.

That one was on crabs. Also do well on dead white baits with no tail fishing the bottom on the beaches in that area. You are right it is an amazing area.

Yes he was so big he never actually got all the way out of the water. I fought her for about an hour and 20 minutes and my son who is behind me in the pic finished her off for another 20 minutes. One of my life highlights being able to tag team it with my son.

Awesome shot. Just lost a slob after 35 minutes off Egmont last week. Sadly not prepared for the photo of the first jump which is the highlight of tarpon fishing except for actually getting to the boat for release.
