Yup. I first noticed it on his Kick Returns as a Freshman. No moves, just ran straight into defenders 15 yds away. I was like "what in the world is he doing?" Went back and saw the same thing on a lot of his runs FR year. Same thing kept happening Soph year. I've posted other runs in other...

I had the same exact thoughts. "Physical & Downhill" is how Knighton described his style. I'd love if his mentality was more "Fast & Elusive". I respect how physical he is, especially at his size. He's fearless, tough as ****, and has balls the size of boulders. I wouldn't want that to go...

I agree the run game needs to be more diverse & creative, and will be under Gattis. "In Theory" it'll help Knighton. But if Knighton continues to run the way he's been - there's only so much it can help. Gattis can't scheme plays to give Knighton any more space than on the run below...

I agree with you on the OL recruiting. IMO - We just need to stack more talented players vs trying to coach up project types. I'd say you don't have to be a HOF RB to overcome bad OL play. Look at ACC's RB's from last year: Jahmyr Gibbs - GT - 5.2 Sean Tucker - Syracuse - 5.9 Jaylan Knighton...

Here's the list of Miami RB's who had 100+ carries vs P5 teams in a season, but averaged 4.5 ypc or less since 2000 Tyrone Moss Charlie Jones Javarris James Mike James Dallas Crawford Joe Yearby Mark Walton Jaylan Knighton Highly ranked RB's, some NFL players. In the moment - poor...

Well - I guess thank you for letting me know you're "on to me". Big schocker you went 0-2 in answering my questions - didn't see that coming. Why do I call Walton & Knighton out? Because both average 3.8 ypc in their careers vs P5 teams. 4.5 ypc should be the minimum. It's bad & it ain't...

Walton is the closest comparison I can find for Knighton. I'm just going by the data. But 2 things I'm hoping you can explain: 1) If I'm pointing out Knighton's stats are similar to Walton - how is that me NOT being positive about Knighton? Wouldn't that be a good thing? 2) If you think...

Knighton is 180/190 - Chaney is 210/215. Chaney's size advantage > Knighton's speed advantage. The Chaney/McGahee & Knighton/Duke comparisons have always both been equally ridiculous.

Knighton has 197 carries, and one 30+ yd run. 40 is his longest. He's not hitting any HR's (in the run game). It's very Walton/Yearby-esque. He deserves another crack at it - but if he doesn't show he's changed his style early in the season I hope the coaches don't force feed him carries.

I'm face palming too brutha. It's rough. But I'm hoping it'll get better this year! On the positive side - the start of Knighton's career is basically the same as the end of Mark Walton's career. Lots of similarities. So if you're still a Walton truther - BOOM! There you go!

I think Knighton's much more talented and better than what his stats indicate. But the stats are what they are - and they're really bad. Example - name another RB you think was "good", but averaged 3.9 ypc through their first 2 years or 200 carries. Can you? Most won't be able to, or it'll...

All the time. I constantly post that IMO Knighton is talented, his speed is special, he's a weapon in the passing game, he's tough as ****, and you gotta respect his durability & the punishment he's able to take. I also constantly point out that ANY 180/190 lb RB that tries to run through...

Only weighing 180 IS the reason he went down easy. It's ok to praise someone's effort while still realizing their limitations. Example: Chris Lykes led Miami basketball in scoring 2 straight years. He gave incredible effort. Realizing that Lykes being 5-7 160 lbs was probably the main reason...

In 2021: Knighton averaged 3.9 ypc Top 100 Rushers - 97% averaged 4.5+ ypc Knighton's circumstances don't justify just how bad that YPC was. That's why it keeps getting mentioned. Everyone agrees the OL & run scheme has to get better. But Knighton's still got a ways to go in making...
