Can't wait for fall practice to start so that the wild over speculation about Lingard's knee can stop.

Whoever told you that is incorrect. If someone told you 210 is "roughly" the weight where a RB can "usually" start to handle a larger workload - that would be correct. It's a general statement, not a definitive statement.

    You're 100% correct Lingard weighing 210+ isn't a requirement. I'm saying it's a bonus.

That's an excellent point and I agree with you. But I think "College Production" and "NFL Potential" are 2 different discussions. College Production - Yearby can be a 1,000 yd back at 190 lbs. & 4.7 40 - Walton can be a 1,000 yd back at 200 lbs. & 4.6 40 But their NFL potential is limited...

Again...I'm not saying 210 is a weight Lingard HAS to get to I'm saying....projecting to the NFL....210 is "roughly" the weight where a RB can start carrying a full workload "much more often" - therefore giving him a more value/potential/higher ceiling. So I would "like" to see him get to 210+...

I'm not insisting that at all. Lingard was listed at 202 last season, and looks like he's put on more weight. So I'm interested to see what weight he'll play at as a Soph. I totally agree he can still continue to put on weight past his Soph season. What I'm trying to say is: "IF" he is...

    - You went back 40 years and named 7 RB's. 3 RB's have played since 2000, and 2 of those 3 are 210+ - Ladanian Tomlinson is 215 and I'm assuming you meant Curtis Martin who is 210. There are plenty of awesome RB's under 210 who have played recently - McCaffery, Freeman, Darren Sproles, Jamal...

Gracias Brock. You're right - our RB room looks a lot better than it has in years. I really like where we're at with our RB's.

@For_The_U & @OriginalCanesCanesCanes I know the difference between 205 & 210 doesn't look like much on paper. Projecting to the NFL - 210 is about the weight where a RB can begin to carry a full load, and be a #1 guy. It does happen - but it's not very often an NFL teams #1 guy in under...

Right - and Duke is #3 on the depth chart, while Walton and Homer will have to fight to make the team. I love Duke & Homer - but they're not #1 guys in the NFL. Meanwhile Lamar Miller goes 220 lbs and has been a #1 guy for the last 6 years. Having guys that just make NFL rosters vs. having...

Basically I want to start looking like an NFL team again. 210 lbs. is the rough cutoff of where a RB can be a #1 guy for an NFL team. If Lingard can get to 210 without losing much speed it'll be much better for Miami, and much better for his NFL prospects. We can't keep rolling out 200 lb...

If Lingard is 210+ it's a very good sign. I'm hoping he can get to 215. If his weight maxes out around 205, it's a little disappointing. Still a great RB, just a little lower ceiling.

They were starting to work him in on kicks last year. He returned 2 kicks in the UVA game. He probably would've done it more the 2nd half of the year if he hadn't gotten hurt.

I agree - Lingard could make a big impact here. Thomas, DJ, and Osborn have all returned Punts & Kicks, so there's plenty of good options here.

Hand times can have so much variance. Homer - 4.31 Greentree, 4.48 NFL Combine - .17 difference Redwine - 4.38 Greentree, 4.44 NFL Combine - .06 difference My takeaway is less at the actual number, and more "ok, these are the 5-6 fastest guys on the team" If they were laser timed, my best...

I could easily be wrong about Cam. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up the better RB. Cam - I see Travis Homer minus the physicality in terms of style. Fast & Explosive, and a good receiver. Can make a move at the line of scrimmage but once he gets up to speed, he's a straight line guy...

I think DJ has better NFL potential than Cam. It's not a huge gap, and wouldn't argue against anyone that said Cam - but I think DJ translates better to the NFL.

It's "shiny new toy" syndrome. 2017 - DJ was better in our last 2 games vs. Clemson & Wisconsin than Homer, so in the offseason it became popular to say DJ was better than Homer 2018 - Cam has 2 big games down the stretch, so now he's better than DJ. IMO - DJ is getting some hate right now...

Serious question - doesn't that just make him Mark Walton? And it's 5 of the last 8 games Deejay was under 4.0 ypc. You keep saying 6.

    Lorenzo Lingard

Totally valid point that Dallas didn't finish strong. IMO - Deejay's slow finish isn't indicative of who he is, just like Homer's slow start last year wasn't for him. I think Dallas is being a bit discounted, while the Cam hype train might be moving a bit too fast. But I understand the...
