They both had late season humiliating wipeout loses. The fans were hot. They both survived.

I edited that. I was comparing the acc title to Clemson’s bowl game. 5 touchdowns on the national stage. You think we would fire a coach after he won the acc for an embarrassing bowl game. I disagree.

Richt ended 2017 the same way as Dabo ended 2011. Start hot, lose a bunch at the end and drop a big game by 5 touchdowns. Richt survived. Dabo would have had a hot seat no doubt, but he wouldn’t have been fired for winning our first acc title. There will be *****ing when he loses, but that is...

His first year he was interim coach for 7 games. Second year he increased their win total by 2 and won his division. Year 3 was 6-7, but they lost a BUNCH of close games, all one score except Miami (9) and USCe(22) His seat was hot, but it was enough for wait and see mode. Year 4 (really 3...

Well coached teams consistently beat less talented teams by leaning on their strengths. We have consistently lost to less talented teams by game planning directly into our weaknesses the last two regimes. Schedule matters but bad gameplanning negates talent advantages.

All those guys were rebuilding those cultures from scratch. Dabo was the only one to have any continuity and he wasn’t even a coordinator. Diaz has a much easier situation.

Completely different situation. None of those coaches had a schedule this weak. Dabo wasn’t even a coordinator. Their teams were starting from scratch. Our defense is set and the team knows and respects him. Held the defense together under circumstances they could have easily quit. All Diaz...

Is this tweet from Manny a sign that the culture is finally changing?

Most fans are reasonable enough. Everybody wants the return of the glory days, but know it will take work. What made fans turn on Golden and Richt so completely and venomously was their stubbornness. They took brutal losses trying to square peg guys into their narrow philosophy. Instead of...
