I agree. I dont believe for a second the first contact bama had with him was the day they hired him. Saban has probably had talks with Steele since the job became vacant. Steele probably let Mario know what was happening and that if the offer came he would take it. That makes sense to me.

Just a guess but the Steele thing probably wasn't as sudden. I imagine he let Mario know is had been approached and if the offer came through he would take it. He probably was at least a week ahead of the public announcement. JMO

Don't know if he was planning to move from Steele but probably knew the possibility he was going to Bama for some time.
