Seems like the thinking is they want Garland to eat as many innings as possible on midweeks and save the bullpen for the weekend. I agree with you that McFarlane should stay in that set-up/bridge to Ziehl role. I wouldn't mind seeing Gallo start on Sunday. He showed alot vs Pitt

No doubt, that has to be it for Rosario as a SP. It's pretty amazing we've had this good a season with how he's pitched. Two options I see: 1. Give McFarlane another chance, esp as he's pitching well recently. 2. Move Garland to Sunday and go with bullpen games for the remaining midweeks

They should give Rafe a chance on Sunday. He's been the 3rd best bullpen arm, and I don't think you mess with the Ziehl/Walters combo. McFarlane has shown he isn't a SP, Rosario is off or hurt, give Rafe a shot

Agree. Hopefully they use McFarlane as a multi-inning RP that can give them 4-5 IP a week. Palmquist seems like he's got around 5 innings before his stuff starts to fall off. Would make sense IMO to go with Palmquist > McFarlane > Ziehl/Rafe > Walters on Fri
