    Changes I’d like to see

These people couldn't defend Jim Morris fast enough even though we were missing the tournament. Now, though, Gino is the mastermind of the turnaround. That begs the question: if Jim Morris was still doing a great job, why did Gino need to turn anything around?

    Changes I’d like to see

Um, he said nothing about football. He described our baseball program perfectly. Same early season losses, same excuses that it's only one series, and we will end with the same disappointing regional loss.

    Changes I’d like to see

You keep spouting the same nonsense. Why is batting the only thing in sports that the coach isn't responsible for fixing? And how do you not see the same poor approaches year after year? This is a program issue. Why do UF hitters have a better approach? I'll guarantee you it is because Kevin...

    Changes I’d like to see

No, I'm not going off one weekend. When the same batters have the same failing approach as last year, it is a program issue, not a weekend issue.

    Changes I’d like to see

When the approaches are the same ones from the same guys that got you beat last year, it's more than just one weekend.

    Changes I’d like to see

You can keep saying it over and over, but if you have guys with poor approaches, either recruit differently or take away their ABs. Still waiting for you to tell us what coaches are paid to do if they’re not responsible for getting hitters to have the correct approach.

    Changes I’d like to see

I've said it since Gino's return: he recruits the travel ball heroes who grade well at Perfect Game showcases but who aren't great baseball players when it comes down to playing against elite competition. Part of that is just what you said. He goes after guys who hit it a long way in practice...

    Changes I’d like to see

Unfortunately, Errors and Fielding Percentage don't pick up on things like throwing to the wrong base or not having someone cover the bag.

*You're It's actually seven games, but who needs facts, right? We've seen these same approaches for the entirety of DiMare's tenure. Nothing is going to change.

    Who makes the lineup?

    Changes I’d like to see

Not sure if this is real. Why do other teams have better approaches at the plate? It's either a recruiting problem or a developmental problem, and DiMare is in charge of both. Not joking....what do you think a hitting coach is supposed to do?
  12. ThePurpleHunter

    Changes I’d like to see

Well, you're wrong on both counts. The three losses don't determine the season, but the way we play baseball certainly does. As for plate approach, if it's not the job of the coach to recruit and develop players into having the correct approach, what are we paying him for?
  13. ThePurpleHunter

    Changes I’d like to see

I think you proved that it's not always on the player. DiMare chooses who to recruit, and DiMare chooses how we practice. He also chooses how to respond as the head coach when guys don't do their jobs.

Then you need to be able to evaluate the way guys approach their at bats. This has been a losing formula for a while now. It's not just a matter of "getting hot". The way we approach a game will always get beat by good pitching.

    Changes I’d like to see

Cool, next year you'll be saying the same thing even though we won't do squat in the postseason again this year. You won't learn. The sheep have literally, without exaggeration, been telling us "we're fine" for 19 straight seasons.
  16. ThePurpleHunter

    Changes I’d like to see

No one is panicking. But people who understand baseball see the exact same issues that doom us every other year. It's the same broken record. Someone like you claims that you can't judge a team based on one weekend, then at the end of the season we lose due to the same issues that happened in...

    Changes I’d like to see

Is this a joke? Most people learn that when the same thing happens over and over and over, you can't just chalk it up to "it's baseball, relax". This happens every single year. Yes.
  18. ThePurpleHunter

    Changes I’d like to see

When it is the same thing every single year? Yes. Absolutely.
  19. ThePurpleHunter

    Changes I’d like to see

What you aren't getting is that our performance in the second series has consistently been a microcosm of the team that we ultimately become all year. Somehow we don't ever seem to "get hot and click". We are who we are.
  20. ThePurpleHunter

    Changes I’d like to see

It’s like you people all got the same talking points in an email. This “just one series” nonsense has been going on for almost 20 years. You can’t seem to understand that when we can’t hit, run bases, play defense, or close out games, that is an indicator of NOT being an elite team. We’ve seen...
