Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

Yep. Now they'll probably streeeeeeetch out those installment payments. Like the NFL does.

Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

The reasons for the IC rule are (a) to prevent kids from being "cut" from the team, and (b) to stop "oversigning". Over 5 years of eligibility, you can sign 125 kids, and you only have 85 spots. So you can "lose" 40 kids over 5 years AND BE FINE on the numbers. But, again, WHAT THE NCAA CARES...

Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

Again, some people (particularly the athletes) act like this is just the same as signing a free agent contract in football. "Hey, I'm on a new team, yee-haw." Kids are in school, they are trying to earn diplomas. The NCAA cares (or pretends to care) about the academic side of things. They...

    Intentional.

Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

It's not the worst idea, but it still creates the (potential) incentive to push the HS kids out if they don't excel in Y1 or Y2.

Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

As we continue to see, it is much easier to "legalize" and "regulate" an industry, rather than to just keep denying the inevitable. Here's how the NCAA should do it, very simple, very easy: 1. One-free "immediate eligibility" transfer if you are in good academic standing. 2. "Transfer...

Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

This may be a valid point. However, I would argue that it is highly likely that a new dinosaur will emerge to take the place of the "old dinosaur" IC rules.

Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

No, it was not, not for Division 1-A Power 5 football.

Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

    Incredibly relevant.

Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

OK, I believe that it has been reported that upwards of 2,000 kids have put their names into the portal this year. Some have found homes. Good for them. But 2,000 kids and 120 Division I-A programs is ALMOST AN ENTIRE YEAR'S SIGNING CLASS. Meaning, if all those kids are to find homes, then...

Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

No...no we're not (as a voluntary choice). Not on an ongoing and permanent basis. There is only one way for this long national nightmare to end. Schools have to get as many ICs for Transfers IN as they lose for Transfers OUT. Any other temporary solution will do significant damage to...

Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

It doesn't mean anything yet. You CAN transfer and get immediate eligibility...assuming anyone has an IC to offer you. Otherwise, you can just do be a glorified walk-on.

Buckle up it’s about to get bumpy

Uh...no. Until the IC rules are changed, we are just going to have thousands of kids in the Portal yanking on their limp d!cks.
