    Yeah, I don't know if "offshore account" would be the best avenue, there are HUGE IRS implications related to tax reporting requirements. A US account of some sort is much easier, including things like PayPal, Venmo, etc.

    There is an annual exclusion on gifts, for which no gift tax return would need to be filed. However, these payments are almost always above the exclusion, and would need to be reported. Let's not forget, they nailed Al Capone for underreporting his income.
