    Ivins Update 6-17-20

Agreed. I am still very happy to get Moise, I'm just pointing out the rules (academic redshirt, IC/blueshirt) and how they impact us for 2020 and beyond.

    Ivins Update 6-17-20

Regardless of our IC slot machinations, Moise will be an academic redshirt for 2020.

    Ivins Update 6-17-20

So...Ivins finally agrees with what I've been saying for months. Although he DID tell me that we still had a countback (not true). Anyhow, I hope the NCAA changes the IC rules, but I haven't seen much that supports that this is very likely to happen in the near future. Usually, you see...

    Ivins Update 6-17-20

Anyone, at any time, is free to post "confirmation" of any school's use of their IC slots. Wait, that information isn't released to the public for "confirmation"? Wow. Nobody is "speculating". Neither Williams nor Moise was "officially recruited", nor did they sign LOIs/FAAs. The only...

    Ivins Update 6-17-20

That is why the hard cap was established in the last decade and tweaked a few times since. Ivins Update 6-17-20

Again, I have always cited various loopholes (Carlos Huerta had tuition remission from a relative employed at UM), including UM's new policy on need-based financial aid, as a way to circumvent the mathematical limits. You don't have to use "name and likeness" income to pay for housing when UM...

    Ivins Update 6-17-20

Only God, the NCAA, and the UM Athletic Department know for certain, but it is fairly obvious that the lack of "official" recruitment of Williams/Moise, coupled with the non-signing of an LOI/FAA, means that we are blueshirting both. You wouldn't do that if you were sitting on a crap-ton of...

    Ivins Update 6-17-20

I don't think the NCAA would ever drop the 25 IC limit. I've mentioned before that I think a more likely first step would be to allow schools to have an extra IC for every player who transfers who has graduated, and maybe for upperclassmen who have made 75% of the Academic Progress to a degree...
