Yeah, Nebraska has long had the "model" walk-on program. It helps that they are a state school (state tuition) and there really aren't a lot of other college options in Nebraska. Gotta be Albert that you're thinking about, I know that Edge was on scholarship.

It's all good. I'm not professing to be an expert on Marist, I just happen to know a fair amount about the UM Med School. I also have several friends from UM undergrad who went to med school (all over the place, including UM). And the overall point of the thread is that if Miami can now...

While I agree that MOST doctors do not go to the same undergrad/med schools, it's not "rare" either. I had many friends who went to UM undergrad/med, as well as UF undergrad/med. Now, this may have been due to the small number of med schools back in the day, but I would also add that UM has a...

True. I started at UM when it was affordable, and when UM increased its scholarship money by a LOT. While I was in school, we had several 10% annual increases in tuition price (sorry, 9.9% increases). For years, the price went up while the financial aid struggled to keep pace, and UM has...

But it's not Harvard. And I wouldn't push anyone to pick Marist over Miami because of how the campus looks. Miami just got named as one of the Top 40 academic schools in the US. So...that's not bad. Kid wants to study medicine. How is Marist's med school?

****, he could probably get a work-study job working as the Athletic Director AND do a better job than Beta Blake.

Not sure if anyone read the Drew Maglio article, but: Recruiting: What Types of Players Did the Old Miami Recruit? It is often claimed by Miami fans, that in order to return to national prominence Miami must reassert itself in South Florida as the dominant presence and most glamorous...

You're a good dude, Ash. I appreciate your posts, particularly the ones on the law. Glad to see UM finally taking this step, I guess the Endowment Fund has grown enough to be able to do this. I'd love to see it applied to the Law School and the Med School someday, but this is a great start.

On a serious note, folks, I cannot emphasize the importance of the attached link enough. This applies to freshmen (not Jarrid Williams or Taulia Tagavailoa) and it should make it easier for UM to take PWOs in football, as well as to assist our baseball players in getting tuition fully paid for...
