Original Bar-Kay’s were straight ‘60’s soul. They were Otis Redding’s backing band on tour. All but one, trumpeter Ben Cauley, were killed along with Otis in 1967 plane crash. They had there own big hit in ‘67, Soulfinger. Very different kind of music from the later Bar-Kays.
